Disappointed.
Very disappointed. After several hours of assembly, I tried to fix the table-top to the base when one of the dowels broke through the finished veneer surface. Obviously, now we have a 25mm diameter hole in the top face. I found the top very difficult to fix and align to the base, and noticed quite a bit of misalignment with some of the holes, which may have been a factor also. I did enquire if I could buy a new top-part, but was told that I would need to bring the whole assembled table back to the shop for review. As it was bought from a Sainsbury's/Argos, and would need to to be manoeuvred through the busy shop, I thought this was impractical, especially as it is approximately 30KG in weight.

Fantastic folding table
Purchased this a couple of weeks ago. It is very sturdy and looks beautiful. Opens and closes with ease too

Sturdy and saves space
I bought this last week so we have somewhere to eat with a bit more room and that folds away to create more space. Easy to put together, seems fairly sturdy so far, but the edges were a bit sharp on the veneer. Nothing a light swipe with a nail file didn't fix! Instructions are poor, but we know how to flat pack!

Looks good, nice size . But beware if you have young children , the edges are really sharp and could hurt them.

It was bought as a last minute decision for Christmas as they would be three of us for dinner and my normal table only seats two... Was easy enough to put together and while it isn't a top of the range table it does exactly what I wanted it to do so I am very happy

Poor quality product
I suppose that I should have expected this with the price, but it's a poor quality product. Dowels and other fitments did not fit easily and using force caused the mdf covering to crack. It's also difficult to move once set up. Not really what I expect from Argos.

"The Gateleg Table is a Wood effect table with wood effect legs. Both the Tabletop and legs are chipboard with melamine wood effect finish."

With the overall length of the Home Extending 4 - 6 Seater Table - Light Oak Effect being 163cm and your jigsaw being 138cm, that leaves 25cm or 12.5cm each end. The overall length of the straight element of the table top is approximately 120 cms so unfortunately would not be enough to accommodate your jigsaw.

On looking through the assembly instructions for the Home Extending 4 - 6 Seater Table - Light Oak Effect, it appears that many of the wooden dowels used to connect various parts are glued in so it would be very difficult to get these apart.
I would suggest that as the table folds down (see picture 3 of 6) then this could be sufficient for transporting in the future.
