Powerful steam ,effortless wrinkle removal, and hassle-free ironing with smart temperature control and smooth performance .
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Philips Azur 8000 Series DAT8020/26 for a while now, and I'm genuinely impressed with its performance. It heats up very quickly, and the steam output is powerful enough to remove even stubborn wrinkles in just one or two passes. The OptimalTEMP technology is a huge advantage because I don't have to worry about adjusting the temperature when switching between different fabrics, which saves a lot of time. The soleplate glides smoothly over clothes, and the iron feels sturdy and well-made. It's a bit heavier than some basic models, but I actually find that the extra weight helps press out creases more effectively. The large water tank means fewer refills, and the auto shut-off feature adds extra peace of mind. Overall, it's an excellent steam iron that makes ironing faster and much less of a chore. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, reliable iron.

Looks Good !!
Changed my mind after buying this product as this iron is quite heavy (without water in tank). Returned for refund - will make alternative choice.

The sleekest and compact steam iron
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This steam iron is the lighest steam iron I’ve ever used. Not got a bulky unit. A nice sleek design and the best thing about it is the smart temp - I tried various fabrics to see if it was effective and it’s been fab so far. The only drawback is the water needs refilling quickly but I think it’s a fab product

Excellent and efficient iron
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ironing seems so seamless now with the Philips Azur steam iron. It’s so easy to use, there’s only one main button to switch the OptimalTemp on or off and then another to emit the steam. Heats up really fast, and takes out all the wrinkles with minimal effort. The cord is really long so is easy to manoeuvre and it’s extremely light weight so is easy to hold for long periods of time if needed. It’s very durable and easy to clean.

Makes ironing quicker and easier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First thing I noticed about this iron is that it feels heavier than other irons I’ve had - not to heavy but more weight to it. I found this made ironing a bit easier and quicker as the weight meant I didn’t have to keep going over creased parts of clothes as much. It has a good length cord so isn’t restrictive. Good amount of steam too when using that feature. Makes ironing quicker and easier.

Hello Maximum,
The supplier has advised for the Philips Azur 8000 Series Steam Iron: No — the Philips DST8050 (Azur 8000 series) does not have a dedicated “Eco steam” mode/button.
What it has instead:
✅ Intelligent automatic steam – the iron releases steam only when you move it, helping reduce unnecessary steam output
✅ OptimalTEMP technology – one temperature setting for all fabrics (no manual adjustment needed)
✅ High continuous steam (up to ~100 g/min) and turbo boost (up to 260 g)
Why no Eco mode?
Unlike steam generator irons (e.g., PSG or PerfectCare series), Azur steam irons typically don’t include a labeled “Eco” setting. Instead, Philips designed this model to:
Automatically regulate steam output based on motion
Keep performance high while avoiding wasted steam
Bottom line:
❌ No manual Eco mode toggle
✅ Built-in efficiency via automatic steam + smart control
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Summer,
The supplier has advised the following for the Philips Azur 8000 Series Steam Iron:
Yes, the Philips DST8050 steam iron can handle tap water, but with a few best practices to avoid limescale buildup.
Can it use tap water?:
Yes — Philips designs this model to be compatible with regular tap water in most areas.
It also has built-in features like Quick Calc Release to help remove limescale.
When to be careful:
If your area has hard water (high mineral content), limescale can still build up over time.
This may reduce steam performance if not maintained.
Best practices:
- Use tap water for daily convenience
- Perform Calc Clean / Quick Calc Release regularly (every 1–2 weeks if heavily used)
- If your water is very hard, mix 50% tap water + 50% distilled/deionized water
- Avoid fully distilled water only (it can affect the steam system in some cases)
Recommendation:
If using distilled water feels inconvenient, you can safely stick to tap water—just stay consistent with cleaning.
Thank you for using Q&A.
