New model not good practically
I’ve been using Philips Azure iron for quite a few years and loved it, its ease of use, its automatic temperature adjustment to fabric types plus other things meant that when it finally gave up the ghost I wanted to replace it. The new model, although technically is the same, is practically frustrating. The flap on the water tank now opens from the right hand side, rather than centrally making filing the tank awkward for right handed people. Plus the cord storage is practically impossible, the old one coiled round its base but this one just dangles with a Velcro wrap which is impossible to use. Overall the iron is one of the best I’ve used but for reasons stated above I won’t be buying it again anytime soon.

So far, impressive!
This iron replaces my pearl glide iron purchased a few months ago because its exact predecessor died after 8 years of great service. I had reviewed the iron prior to replacing my deceased pearl glide But the excellent service and quality of my original iron, the cost of it’s replacement vs the cost of this a brand I haven’t used since my steam generator years… I couldn’t quantify it. But the replacement wasn’t nearly as good as my previous iron so I bit the bullet and purchased the Azur 8000 series in blue and gold I am a seamstress therefore a good iron is essential. I was cautious about the optimal temperature qualities… not having the ability to adjust the temperature to suit different fabrics nerved me. Happily, so far this hasn’t produced any problems. The steam function is great, a lot better than my original iron. This is essential for Egyptian cottons /denims etc the water tank is adequate for my needs both home based and garment making/ repair. I have not had this iron long enough to review its durability and cost effectiveness. To work this out I tend to take the cost of purchase and divide by years of service and use before I will give a product an excellent rating.

Excellent iron
Have only been using this iron a few weeks, but so far I am extremely impressed with how it glides smoothly over any type of material. No burning clothes or getting material on the base and no dial to have to change between cotton and other fabrics. It holds a good amount of water, so you don’t need to fill up every few minutes. Gets hotter than any previous iron I’ve had, without generating too much steam, which means this iron takes out creases easily, it’s also more preside in ironing a collar or elasticated cuff, which means the ironing is quicker to do! A big bonus! I very much like the look of the iron, very sleek. It’s a bit heavier than my last iron, but after using a couple of times, I don’t notice the weight difference any more. I know it’s expensive, but I’m fed up with buying £30 - £60 irons that last only months or a year. So am hoping a very expensive iron will last longer. I do recommend this iron; a great ironing experience.

Clever Iron!!
I bought this to replace a very reliable long serving Bosch iron. I am not disappointed. This is such a clever iron. There are no temperature controls as the iron detects the correct heat setting automatically. The lead is very long which is a real plus in addition to the removable de calc container. Only downside for me is that the iron is much heavier and noticeably so for someone with arthritic hands and it’s impossible to wrap the lead round the iron for storage. A vertical storage frame would have been a helpful accessory.

Fabulous iron.
This iron is worth every penny! It makes ironing an absolute doddle. I was suspicious of not having a temperature control, but so far it's been great. And the nice long fabric covered cord makes it easy to set up where I want to be. I also like the easy to reach scale remover. Whether it actually works remains to be sern - I live in a hard water area do I'll soon find out. My only quibble is that it's really quite difficult to wrap the cord so that it remains in place for storage. Hence 4 stars not 5

Great appliance
I bought this iron few weeks ago and am really happy with my purchase. I was surprised to start with as there is no thermostat but quickly realised the the iron adjust the temperature automatically.

Smart steam iron
Excellent iron, highly recommended! The Philips Azur 8000 Series steam iron performs exceptionally well - it glides smoothly and irons perfectly. It’s very smart and automatically adjusts the settings, so nothing ever gets burned. The vertical steaming is also excellent and works very effectively. The iron is lightweight and comfortable to use, with no old-fashioned switches or complicated controls. On top of that, it’s offered at a great price. I haven’t regretted this purchase at all.
