Replacement integrated fridge freezer
This integrated 70/30 f/f replaced an earlier model one that gave up after only 5.5yrs! This one is ok but it's just not as good quality. The freezer drawers stick all the time, the fridge drawers never slot in first time either. Like everything the price was drastically more than the original one.

Good but
This new appliance is good but the motor is noisier than our old one.

Annoying buttons that get easily pushed
Quality doesn't feel as good as my last fridge freezer from AEG. The controls buttons can easily be knocked when stocking and altering the temperature or mode accidentally

Good replacement
Our previous AEG integrated fridge freezer lasted 10 yrs before the freezer stopped working properly. We didn’t love it that much as it kept getting a big lump of ice in the bottom left corner. There isn’t a lot of choice for integrated ff’s. I did like the 2 drawers in the fridge that the previous one had, this AEG was the only one I could find with the same drawers. I have been very pleased with it so far. It is quiet & no build up of ice. It cost nearly the same as the old one.

Disappointed in this fridge
I got this a few weeks ago to replace a 16-year-old fridge/freezer, and it is not as good as the old one I replaced. The back of the fridge is always wet, which I assume is part of the frost-free mechanism, and anything that is too close to the back of the fridge freezes and is often ruined. Honestly, I'd rather have to defrost my freezer once a year that have my fresh food ruined regularly. Although there's a digital temperature display it only displays the temperature you set it to, not what the temperature actually is. I keep a thermometer in the fridge and freezer and the temperature is often off by quite a bit. Finally, this fridge/freezer comes with a 1-year warranty. To me that suggests that AEG doesn't have a lot of confidence in the quality of this appliance. If they did, wouldn't they guarantee its performance for longer? In summary, I don't think this is worth the extra money over cheaper brands.

Pretty good f/freezer
Chill panel on back of fridge not very efficient. Freezer compartment v. good. Rather sharp edges on vegetable drawers. Good door shelves.

Superb fridge freezer
Recently purchased, then installed by an electrician. Registered easily for the guarantee and now completing this review. So far, this appliance is superb. Haven't had to do anything other than plug in and switch on. The fridge/freezer has set its own temperature. It's basically fill it up and it works perfectly. Can't say much more than it's extremely good value, very well made and is easy to use. Exactly what is needed.

It sounds like your AEG OSC6N181ES fridge freezer is displaying multiple temperatures (2, 3, and 6°C) and not allowing you to change them. This issue could be related to how the control panel is functioning or a system glitch. Here's what you can try based on the user manual and troubleshooting guidance: [manualslib.com]
🔧 Basic Troubleshooting Steps
Power Cycle the Appliance:
Unplug the fridge freezer from the mains.
Wait about 10 minutes.
Plug it back in and check if the display resets.
Check the Control Panel:
The OSC6N181ES has a touch-sensitive LED display. Sometimes, moisture or dirt can interfere with touch sensitivity.
Clean the panel gently with a dry cloth.
Try pressing and holding the temperature adjustment button for a few seconds to see if it enters setting mode.
Temperature Display Behavior:
The fridge and freezer compartments may show independent temperatures.
If the display is alternating between numbers, it might be showing current vs. target temperatures.
Child Lock or Demo Mode:
Check if the child lock is activated. This can prevent changes to settings.
Refer to the manual to disable it (usually involves pressing and holding a specific button for 3–5 seconds).
Factory Reset:
Some models allow a reset by holding the power or mode button for 10 seconds. This can clear any software glitches.
Check for Error Codes:
If the display is flashing or showing unusual patterns, it might be an error code. Refer to the manual or contact AEG support.
The AEG OSC6N181ES fridge freezer has the following internal section dimensions:
Fridge section (top):
Net capacity: 195 litres
Height estimate: Approximately two-thirds of the total height, which is around 118 cm out of the total 177.2 cm height.
Freezer section (bottom):
Net capacity: 62.4 litres
Height estimate: Roughly one-third of the total height, which is around 59 cm.
These proportions are based on the 70/30 split typical of this model type.
The issues you're describing with the OSC6N181ES fridge—a wet back wall and items freezing when placed near it—are actually quite common in many modern refrigerators, especially those with auto-defrost and static cooling systems. Here's why this happens:
🧊 Why the Back Wall Is Wet
Condensation:
The back wall of the fridge is typically the coldest part. Warm, moist air enters the fridge when you open the door, and when it hits the cold surface, it condenses into water droplets.
Defrost Cycle:
Many fridges have an automatic defrost cycle. During this cycle, frost that builds up on the evaporator (usually located behind the back wall) melts and the water runs down into a drain hole. If the drain is blocked or slow, water may linger on the back wall.
❄️ Why Items Freeze Near the Back
Evaporator Location:
The evaporator coil, which cools the fridge, is usually located behind the back wall. This makes that area significantly colder than the rest of the compartment.
Poor Air Circulation:
If items are placed too close to the back wall, they can block airflow and get exposed to colder temperatures, causing them to freeze.
Temperature Setting Too Low:
If the fridge is set too cold, the back wall can reach freezing temperatures even if the rest of the fridge is fine.
✅ What You Can Do
Avoid placing items directly against the back wall.
Check and clean the drain hole at the bottom of the fridge to ensure proper defrost drainage.
Adjust the temperature setting to a slightly warmer level (usually around 4°C is ideal).
Ensure good airflow by not overloading the fridge and keeping space between items.

Yes, you can fit a 4-pint bottle of milk in the AEG OSC6N181ES fridge.
Here’s why:
The fridge has adjustable glass shelves, allowing you to create enough vertical space for taller items like a 4-pint (2.27L) milk bottle.
A standard 4-pint milk bottle is approximately 23–25 cm tall, and the fridge’s internal layout is designed to accommodate common grocery items, including tall bottles, especially in the door compartments.
If the top 3 shelves of your fridge (model OSC6N181ES) are freezing food, it’s likely due to one or more of the following issues:
🔧 Common Causes & Fixes
Temperature Setting Too Low
Fix: Set the fridge temperature to around 4°C (39°F). If it's already at that level, try increasing it slightly and monitor the results.
Blocked Air Vents
Cold air from the freezer is circulated into the fridge. If vents near the top are blowing too much cold air:
Fix: Ensure vents aren’t blocked by food items.
Try placing more items on the lower shelves to balance airflow.
Faulty Thermostat or Sensor
If the thermostat is misreading the temperature, it may overcool.
Fix: This may require a technician to test or replace the sensor.
Improper Food Placement
Items placed too close to the back wall or vents may freeze.
Fix: Keep items slightly away from the back and top vents.
Damaged Door Seal
If warm air is leaking in, the fridge may overcompensate by cooling more.
Fix: Check the door gasket for cracks or gaps. Replace if needed.
Overstuffed Fridge
Poor air circulation can cause uneven cooling.
Fix: Avoid overloading the fridge, especially near the top.
