The Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 brings proper home cinema sound to your living room with a single, seriously capable soundbar that doesn't need extra boxes to impress. With 11 speakers built in, including upward-firing drivers for overhead effects, it uses 360 Spatial Sound Mapping to analyse your room and tailor the audio so it wraps around you from every direction. Dolby Atmos and DTS X support means films, games and shows all get that immersive 3D treatment, and at 495W of power, there's plenty of punch for action scenes and subtle dialogue alike.
At 110cm wide, it fits under most TVs without dominating your space. With a Sony BRAVIA TV, you unlock extras like Acoustic Centre Sync, turning your tv into the centre speaker for clear dialogue. Setup is easy with 2 HDMI ports (cable included), plus Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless streaming via AirPlay or apps. Wall-mountable with brackets included, it weighs 4.7kg and comes with a remote, batteries, power cord, and all cables. Optional subwoofers and rear speakers are available, and it includes a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Bar8 + Sub8 + Rear8
Bar8, Sub8 and Rear8 bought together during recent 50% cashback offer. Replaces a HT-ZF9 system with rears. Significant and worthwhile sonic and aesthetic improvement in each component. Only real quibble regards loss of ZF9's display/on screen menus. Otherwise very happy. Good value when on offer.

Best when paired with a Sony Bravia TV
Had it a couple weeks now and as I have a Sony Bravia TV, they couple so well together…the bass levels could be heavier but this is a good piece of kit…At some point a subwoofer will be purchased. If you are planning to use the the other HDMI port on the Bar for a firestick etc, the HDMI cable supplied with it cannot handle uncompressed Prime or Apple TV streaming and an upgraded to a classified Ultra fast cable is required to get the best out of the bar…

I am very pleased with this soundbar. Gives you a fantastic sound from your tv. If you really want to go to the next level then add the SW3 subwoofer and RS8 rear speakers. You will not be disappointed.

I waited a couple of months before posting a review of the Sony HT-8000 soundbar The soundbar makes you feel part of whatever film or programme you're watching The 360 Spatial Sound Mapping really works; films that support Dolby Atmos or DTS:X have to be heard to be believed; just amazing quality Setup with a Bravia TV was so easy and enhanced the already great viewing experience
