Tapo Doorbell - far superior to Ring Doorbell
Bought this Tapo Doorbell to replace our Ring Doorbell. We are delighted with it, now we get super quick access to callers, far less fiddly than having to access the slower Ring App and miss the delivery person. We got rid of the Ring Doorbell for two reasons, short 2-month battery life despite no stored video footage to view and also having no option to use a MicroSD storage card, only a £70.00 per year online subscription. The picture, sound and set-up are far superior on the Tapo and the battery life is far greater.

I chose this doorbell as it comes with a chime, doesn’t need drilling to install or a subscription for video storage. The video quality is good, door chime is loud. At current rate, however, the battery charge will last about 6 weeks - very different from the 6 months claimed, which is disappointing.

So far so good. Just been away on holiday and it gave me peace of mind that the car was still on the drive and hadn’t been tampered with while we were away. Relatively easy to set up and connect to WiFi. Easy to mount on door

We bought this as an alternative to the Amazon Ring and we weren't disappointed. There are no subscription fees which obviously was a bonus, it takes upto a 256Gb Micro SD card, the video quality is excellent and just being able to access it from anywhere is brilliant. Definitely in my opinion, a must buy alternative.

Problems with installation
Absolute nightmare to set-up. Had to try 3 different sd cards before I got one that would format. After I installed the doorbell sometimes it would work, then I'd get the message that the wi-fi signal was unstable. The doorbel was only 3m from the router. Everything else in the house worked with the router in the original location but finished up having to move the router.
