excellent camera
i bought this 2 weeks before going on Holiday so glad i did. resolutions is great no real delay even when viewing from another country. reason i chose was it allows local storage via microSD card so no subscription costs. battery life doesnt seem to last as long as they mentioned but mine gets activated quite a lot so i suppose it is dependant on use. mine last about 5-6 weeks on a full charge. excellent product would highly recommend.

Doorbell D210- not easy to set up
Only installed yesterday, it wasn't straight forward to install, I bought a separate sd card so that I didn't have to subscribe to the cloud. I can delete videos from my phone but haven't found a way to delete them from the sd card. The quality of the videos are good, would I buy another Tapo doorbell, no I don't think I would, too complicated and stressful!

Great cameraange doorbell
Have to say we had a ring doorbell before but we much prefer the Tapo. It's a much cheaper device than ring and picks up the signal from internet far better it did on ring too. Would recommend 👍

Very pleased
Purchased a couple of weeks ago and we are very happy, it’s great quality, the night vision is better than our last well known Door bell! Easy installation, no messy wires. There are a choice of ring tones You can change the colour of the door bell button which is a nice touch. Our front door is low to average on traffic and the battery is still showing full. Time will tell with the battery but reviews say that they are happy with it.

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
Yes, you can view recordings on your phone through the Tapo app.
Please note that recordings will only be available if the doorbell has a storage method configured. The Tapo D210 supports recording to a microSD card or through a supported Tapo Care cloud subscription service.
If no microSD card is installed and no cloud service is subscribed to, the doorbell can still provide live view and notifications, but recordings will not be saved for playback.
Hope this helps!
Hello there,
No, the Tapo D210 Video Doorbell package does not come with a Tapo SD storage hub.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello there,
Tapo D210 2K 3MP Video Doorbell with Chime.
It is version 2.

Hi,
Below are some specifications for the Tapo D210:
• Waterproof rating: IP65 — This means the doorbell features a full-shell design, effectively preventing moisture from entering the device.
• Operating temperature: -20°C to 45°C
• Operating humidity: 10%~90% RH, Non-condensing
The combination of the IP65-rated sealed shell and the non-condensing design gives the D210 a significant advantage in resisting moisture intrusion and internal fogging, unlike doorbells with lower protection ratings that may have camera visibility issues. The wide operating temperature range also proves that this product is designed for reliable use in cold weather. Of course, under extreme weather conditions, no outdoor equipment can completely avoid large-scale condensation on its outer surface, but the D210's robust sealing structure minimizes this risk.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Alex,
Tapo D210 connects exclusively via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz, IEEE 802.11b/g/n). It does not have a built-in cellular or mobile data modem, so it cannot connect directly to a mobile data network on its own.
Here's a breakdown of the two scenarios you may be considering:
• Using a mobile hotspot as the Wi-Fi source for the doorbell: Technically, the D210 could connect to a mobile hotspot (from a smartphone or a dedicated mobile Wi-Fi device) since it would appear as a standard 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. However, this is not an officially supported or recommended setup, and performance may vary depending on signal stability and data speeds.
• Accessing the doorbell remotely via mobile data on your phone: Yes, you can use the Tapo app on your smartphone over mobile data to view live footage, receive notifications, and manage the doorbell — as long as the doorbell itself remains connected to a Wi-Fi network at its installed location.
In summary, the D210 always requires a stable Wi-Fi connection at the installation site to function. Your phone, however, can use mobile data to access and control the doorbell remotely through the Tapo app.

Hello Grabba,
The supplier has advised the following for the Tapo D210 2K 3MP Video Doorbell with Chime:
"The Tapo D210 does not need to be hardwired. It is a battery-powered only model with a built-in non-removable battery. There is no hardwiring option for this doorbell.
When the battery runs low, you'll need to detach the doorbell from its mount and charge it via USB (Type-C), then reattach it once fully charged.
As an additional option, the Tapo D210 is also compatible with the Tapo A201 solar panel (sold separately), which can help keep the battery charged without frequent manual recharging."
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi,
The Tapo D210 does not support hardwiring, but the Tapo D235 and Tapo D130 do.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello there,
The Tapo D210 2K 3MP Video Doorbell with Chime cannot be fixed with strong double-sided tape instead of screws. The doorbell requires the use of wall screws for installation, as the adhesive mounting tape is not compatible with the D210 model.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi,
Yes, the doorbell has a live view function. Once configured, you can view it anytime via the Tapo App.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Boxboy,

Hello There.
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for Tapo D210 2K 3MP Video Doorbell with Chime.
Cameras and video doorbells, placing one behind glass is generally not recommended for the following reasons:
• IR night vision interference: Most doorbells use infrared (IR) LEDs for night vision. When placed behind glass, the IR light reflects off the glass surface back into the lens, causing a washed-out or glowing image at night. This essentially makes night vision unusable.
• Motion detection limitations: Many doorbells use PIR (Passive Infrared) sensors to detect motion. PIR sensors cannot detect heat signatures through glass, which means motion detection would likely not work reliably or at all.
• Glare and reflections: During the day, glass can cause significant glare and reflections, reducing image clarity and making it harder to see who is at the door.
• Doorbell functionality: As a doorbell, it's designed to be accessible to visitors to press the button — placing it behind glass would prevent that entirely.
For best performance, the Tapo doorbell is designed to be mounted directly on an exterior wall. If outdoor mounting is a concern, it is water-resistant and can handle splashes, though installing it under a sheltered area like an eave or porch is recommended for long-term durability.
Thank you for using Q & A.
