Distinctly Average Shed
As soon as I received delivery of my shed I could immediately see that the component parts were not of a particularly high quality and that each of the pre-assembled sections contained many misaligned fixings (ie brads/nails) and that most of the timber lengths were twisted or warped. During assembly a badly manufactured section of tongue and groove caused major problems in attaching the crucial triangular section to the side wall that supports the roof sheets, which resulted in me having to use expanding foam to fill a large gap at the rear when assembly was complete. The windows provided were far short of the quality I'd been expecting and if the shed was being used to store anything of value they would not provide any level of security - security screws (which were not provided as described) would be of no use when anyone could simply cut through the low quality plastic with a reasonably sharp penknife. No window trim of any worth was provided either so I had to manufacture my own - this is not obvious from any of the photos of the shed, nor on the instructional video on Forest's website. The door was particularly badly put together and was found to be badly twisted when fitted.. the Z frame on the interior was so badly put together that most of the join sections did not actually meet so had to be strengthened with many additional screws, but even this did nothing to improve the twist so a hastily purchased slide bolt had to be fitted at the bottom of the door to ensure there was no gap when in the closed position. As mentioned elsewhere in the reviews the screws provided are of a very low quality so I ended up using fixings from my own toolbox. Be prepared to have a decent supply on standby because you will need far more than the instructions suggest once you try to fix the warped fixing strips in any kind of straight position. I'd also recommend having a few tubes of clear silicone sealant to hand when assembling as the shed, as provided, will not be weather tight in the slightest. I applied it liberally around the window and beneath each of the joining strips.

Shed seems OK
The 6 x 4 shed seems to be reasonable quality, but my son said that the screws provided are rubbish, we managed to find some decent wooden ourselves. The shed should be alright to house my lawn mower and garden tools, so overall it is better than some I have purchased.

Garden shed 6×4
Excellent value. Easy to assemble on my own (age 75 but fit). Roof felt poor quality so bought a better quality roll and strengthen the roof to make it load bearing. Used shed stain before assembly. Looks great - really pleased. Erected on concrete base.

Overall happy - some minor issues
The promised lead time was 4-6 weeks but it incredibly arrived in just 2, very happy. Some of the joins however were difficult to do, things didn't correctly line up straight away. This is really a two person build, but I didn't make it by myself, though I wouldn't recommend it. The floor provided isn't very strong, ideally you should add some more support beams underneath otherwise it creaks and feels like it will collapse at some point.

Hello Tommy,
The supplier has advised the following for the Forest Wooden 6 x 4ft Shiplap Pent Shed:
“ The size of the door 582x1692mm.
The size of the door opening 1645mm(H) x 590mm(W)”
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Jayc,
Thanks for getting in touch about the Forest Wooden 6 x 4ft Shiplap Pent Shed.
I've checked to see and the roof is made of OSB (Oriented strand board), a type of engineered wood.
icanrunallday, unfortunately due to the slamming strip configuration for the door all Forest Pent Shed doors can only be hung on the left side.
Yes the shiplap is 12mm, however the floor is made from 12 x 16mm (thick) x 137mm (wide) x 1165mm (long) planks of timber screw on to bearers to make a solid, robust floor instead of fibre board.
Hello Chris J,
The Forest Shiplap 6 x 4ft Pent Shed does not come with a base, it does however come with a floor.

The small print
All sheds need to be placed and secured on a base; this can be concrete, patio slabs or wood. Putting your shed directly on the ground wouldn't be safe and would decrease the lifespan of your shed.
