The Playstation Portal has been constantly updated since release and is now the best it's ever been. As long as you have a PS Plus Premium subscription, you can now cloud stream lots of games from your Library without even owning a PS5. A nice 1080p, 60hz screen and really good streaming quality for both cloud gaming and remote play. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent product
After much research and debate, I decided to buy a Playstation portal. Honestly, best decision ever!! Easy set up, excellent graphics that are on par with the PS5. The latest update allows you to play certain games purchased from the PS store. I haven't stopped gaming on it since I brought it. I would Honestly recommend this to anyone considering it.

Good handheld console
Bought the PS Portal about 2 weeks ago and i can tell that is a friendly user console with a very good quality. Even if it started as a remote play linked to your console after the last update it became a little more independent although it still needs an internet connection. I would recommend it.

Nice addition
Grandson loves the latest addition to his PlayStation accessories. Instead of sitting in his bedroom being away from the family he can now sit in the livingroom & still play his games on his portal. He’s now looking at accessories for his portal. Easy to set up, no lagging, well designed

While this can be used in this way, the connection will be the determine factor, you will need a Mi-Fi or mobile hotspot that allows connections over Wi-Fi to be able to use it this way. This is designed though to be used in the same household as the PS5.

From the information available. You do require a Playstation console that must be switched on, to be able to use the Remote Portal. It streams games from your PS5 over your home Wi-Fi. Just ensure your PS5 is on and connected to the internet.

Both your PS5 console and the remote player will need to be connected to a Wi-Fi connection; This does not have to be the same Wi-Fi connection , so you can use the remote player away from home.

Using the PlayStation Portal Remote Player and PlayStation Remote Play does not require a PlayStation Plus membership. If you are using Remote Play to play a game that requires a PS Plus membership to access multiplayer, then you would need to have an active membership to access that game’s multiplayer features.
