The Tapo C200 is officially designed to work with the Tapo mobile app, which requires iOS 13.0 or higher or Android 7.0 or higher. There is no dedicated desktop application for laptops.
However, there are still ways you can use the Tapo C200 with a laptop:
Tapo Web Portal: You can access your camera's live view and recordings through a web browser on your laptop by visiting web.tapo.com and logging in with your Tapo account.
RTSP Support: The Tapo C200 supports RTSP streaming, allowing you to view the camera feed on your laptop using compatible third-party software (such as VLC Media Player or similar NVR/IP camera software) by using the camera's RTSP stream URL.
ONVIF Profile S: The camera also supports ONVIF Profile S, enabling integration with ONVIF-compatible software or network video recorders that can run on a laptop or PC.
While the primary and fully supported method is through the Tapo mobile app, the Tapo C200 can still be used with a laptop via the web portal or through third-party RTSP/ONVIF-compatible applications.

If the camera is installed behind glass, infrared lights may cause reflection, resulting in blurry and unclear images, thereby hindering the timely detection of moving objects, especially in nighttime scenes.

For camera live view, once the camera is set up in the Tapo app and connected to the internet, you can watch it for free (no extra cost).
Notification can be configured without SD card or Tapo Care.
For camera playback, there are two recording types: SD card recording and Tapo Care.
