I bought this 3 weeks ago and the hinge has come apart, ive taken it off several times and tried to put it back in place but it gradually loosens off so I don't recommend this product

Lovely loo seat
I love it! I wanted real wood and I hot it. The seat us lovely and smooth and bot cold to sit in. The slow close functions work great and the price was very reasonable. 5 stars!

Not the same shape as my modern toilet, returned.
Seat itself was OK, but not the same shape as a modern toilet. Had to return it, I could because I left it sealed in the shrink wrap. Had to grade for ease of fitting, but I never fitted it, so ignore that.

Does what it says on the tin. Nice wooden toilet seat with soft-close. Does your toilet seat fall down when you're a man, standing to 'address'? Here's a tip. Most settings will lead to 'seat fall'. But if you swivel the circular fixing plates (that sit on the rear of the toilet) all the way round, so that most of the plate lies behind the vertical seat fixings, you have a chance of the seat and lid standing. In my case no other adjustment will hive this effect. The front seat edge stands 2" proud of the bowl, but that's no bad thing, and prob more sanitary, if you think about it. Tip 2: I used wing nuts (from previous seat) to tighten bolt witch holds seat to bowl, rather than the fiddly little nuts and plastic tightener provided. Seat was great value . The only thing that would improve it is a mechanism to remove seat for cleaning without undoing those fiddly nuts and bolts underneath. I saw that feature on a model in Argos that was almost twice the price (but well worth considering)

The fixings on the Home Slow Close Wooden Toilet Seat - Pine are such that they have to be tightened manually and therefore, over time could loosen causing potential movement of the seat. These fixings just need to be periodically tightened to prevent the possibility of this happening.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Slow Close Wooden Toilet Seat - Pine: The alloy hinges are hard to rust, but it should not contact with water directly as it will cause oxidation.
