After checking with our supplier, they have advised: the real colour is as per image 3, it is more charcoal black.

If you are good with DIY, then you can make them narrower by a few centimeters.

The only components near the edges are the controls for tilt and drop, which are on the left and the right as shown on the pictures.

You would need to cut the aluminium top and bottom and all the wooden slats.

The cut on the top will be hidden inside the brackets, but you would need to paint the side of the slats so it matches.

Do this at your own risk and remember you can not return them afterwards.

The instructions that come with them, specifically mention you can Shorten your blind.

There is a section there showing you how to do this. It is pretty straight-forward if you have some basic DIY skills.

I can confirm the Little Black Book 50mm Venetian Blind is not a cut to fit blind

Hi Helen,

I have checked to release the blind you need to hold the cord on the right hand side and take it to a 45 degree angle you should feel it release and it will then just lower down.

Having checked with the supplier for you I can let you know they say

"The 50mm wood blind width 60cm is our smallest size, the slat and the headrail edge is not easy to cut shorter - So, the custmer couldn't shorten the width to 57cm by themselves"
