About this product
Control light and mood with this wooden venetian blind featuring tilt control. Made from basswood with a grey finish, its 50mm slats tilt smoothly using wand control to let in as much light as you need. It fits inside or outside your window recess and suits kitchens and bathrooms needing practical window dressing. Fixtures and fittings are included for easy installation. Tested to meet 2014 blind safety standards, it features an automatic safety lock for peace of mind.
The slats are removable, which makes cleaning and maintenance straightforward when you need it. Just wipe them clean with blind cleaner to keep them looking fresh and smart. The blind comes with a child safety cleat to keep cords secure, and it's backed by a one-year manufacturer's guarantee. Excellent quality blinds, I already have the walnut ones in bedroom and wanted these slate ones for my newly painted dark grey lounge. They’re easy to put up and look quality. Value for money.

Very nice blind and good value
For the price the blind is very nice, made from real wood and with ribbons instead of strings. It was available in a good range of sizes so fitted my window perfectly and didn't need trimming or adjusting. It would've been helpful if the top end brackets were a little deeper but I think they're a standard size.

Good quality blind, questionable fixings
The blind are very high quality, look great and reasonably priced. I love the way they look in my room. However, they cheaped out on the included wall plugs and screws. These blinds are VERY heavy. The wall plugs are very cheap and the screws are too short for the plugs. I would definitely recommend buying better quality wall plugs and longer screws to fit the blind more securely to the wall.

It looks good and It’s ok for the money, I only bought the small one which cost little so It will do for now but if I’d bought the bigger dearer ones I would not be happy and would take them back for a refund as it doesn’t close tightly at the bottom of the blind.

Lovely looking blinds. Good quality. Unfortunately it is not recommended to cut them down to fit window so had to return as slightly too big.

If you are good with DIY, then you can make them narrower by a few centimeters.
The only components near the edges are the controls for tilt and drop, which are on the left and the right as shown on the pictures.
You would need to cut the aluminium top and bottom and all the wooden slats.
The cut on the top will be hidden inside the brackets, but you would need to paint the side of the slats so it matches.
Do this at your own risk and remember you can not return them afterwards.
The instructions that come with them, specifically mention you can Shorten your blind.
There is a section there showing you how to do this. It is pretty straight-forward if you have some basic DIY skills.

I have checked to release the blind you need to hold the cord on the right hand side and take it to a 45 degree angle you should feel it release and it will then just lower down.
