It's a win win
This is the bees knees if you want to exercise when it's raining outside - it takes a bit of assembling - but fear not the instructions are easy to follow - and once complete and up and running - it is a solid and sturdy bit of kit, Considering the price against the costs of gym membership - you just can't lose

A great purchase
After reading previous reviews, I was expecting an issue with assembling this item but had no problems at all. It took 2 of us a couple of hours, one reading the instructions and passing the pieces/screws and the other doing the ctual assemply. The bike is great! Really quiet when in use. You can adjust the resistance, swap between distance/calories/time and it also measures your heart rate. Well worth the money.

Budget machine.
Being disabled I found this very hard to put together in places. The instructions are so hard to understand the way they are written. I had to go online for help. Took me 2 days to put it together, once I'd figured out certain parts and at times I almost quit. It isn't the best in terms of quality.... But you get what you pay for. It was the cheapest in the range and sadly this reflects in its quality. Over all it works. Is sturdy enough and having the options of standing or sitting works for me. I did have to purchase a gel saddle cover as the saddle is a little hard for me (again I'm disabled, have lost a lot of weight, so have very boney areas now and backside is one of those). Does have a wide seat on it, unlike some which have skinny ones and hurt even more. I think the only downside for me is I find the foot plates constantly come loose, so I have to keep tightening the nuts on them... But that might be a me/strength issue, not a machine one? This machine is quite big, it's static and doesn't fold down in any way so to have n use it a fair bit of room will be needed. I think if I'd had the extra money I'd have chosen a slightly higher priced one, of a little better quality. But can't grumble for what it is. It's nice, it works and does what it's meant to do. How long it will last, I don't know. But it's the only option I found with a seat, which I needed as I can't stand up too long. So for me, it's great. It fills it's purpose. I use it every day with no issue. So far theres no squeak or other issues like some have mentioned. For a first time user to these machines or someone with a budget it works well and the option of sitting or standing is a bonus. The seat doesn't get in the way if you stand/run, and is gentle on the knees too. Think it could have had a slightly better monitor on it, as it's not easy to figure out/work, but for the price it does. I just get on n go n don't pay that much attention to it anyway.

A great buy
I was looking for a budget cross trainer, so when I found this on Argos on special offer and given the good reviews and bargain price, I thought it was worth a try. I’m glad I did since the machine is very well made and easy to use. I have been using it for about three weeks now and I’m very happy with it! As other reviewers have pointed out, it does take time to assemble it and you will need to follow the instructions carefully. I found it best to use my own spanner since the one supplied was quite lightweight. It is quite awkward to move so may be a good idea to find a space to keep it ready for use. The easy read dial for increasing the machine tension goes from low to high 1 to 8 - and I find that a setting of one or two, is fine to start with. Contrary to some reviews my machine is very quiet!?

The assembled cross trainer is sturdy and smooth. I already feel the benefits after excercising in my knees. Very happy with crosstrainer, very good value,

Needs 3-4 hours for a single person to follow the instructions and assemble the product. But the instruction was simple and easy to follow. Overall the product is good and working perfectly.

We found the same at first but then reread the assembly booklet and found that on stage 2 we had not joined the tension pieces together correctly. Look at the inset pictures carefully, and make sure the hook is in the correct place. The inset picture is small and not easy to make out. We undid the part and joined the pieces correctly, not without difficulty, and this made a vast improvement. The different tension levels work correctly now.
