About this product
The Argos Home Maine Deep Bookcase gives you the storage you need for books, plants and everything you like to keep on show. It's tall and wide, with five shelves that provide plenty of room for your personal library or a mix of reads, figurines and decorative bits. The shelves are deep enough to fit larger items without them tipping forward. Four of the shelves adjust to different heights, so you can organise things your way. One shelf stays fixed for structural support. The wood effect finish suits most rooms, from living spaces to home offices.
The sturdy design stands up to daily use, while the wood effect coating keeps it looking tidy. Wall fixings are included to secure it safely, preventing any risk of tipping in homes with children or pets. Self-assembly required, with clear instructions and all fixings provided. The neutral walnut tone works with existing furniture without clashing. It's narrow enough to fit against walls or into alcoves where floor space is limited. Part of the Maine collection, so you can match it with other pieces if you're building up bedroom or living room storage.

Maine deep bookcases
I bought both the narrow and full sized Maine deep bookcases and very pleased with them. The instructions were clear and both units were a quick easy build. I find that carefully marking the rear board positions, where the frame meets the sides, top and bottom, essential to ensure that the rear board pins are hammered in centrally. If not central there is a danger that the pins will puncture through the sides. The bookshelves were deep enough for my needs and when the top is fixed to the wall using the fixings really stable.

Sturdy bookshelf
I really liked this purchase. It was for my daughter’s bedroom. Assembly was pretty straightforward and did it alone. My advice would be make sure you have a wide enough area to assemble. It took about an hour. My only problem I had was the order and delivery process! Had ordered through the app for delivery to local store! Waited nearly a week to say it wasn’t available and to reorder? So had to reorder and wait another week for home delivery. Pretty poor customer support to be honest.

Great all round bookcase but getting pricey.
I really like these bookcases. I have quite a few of them as I need to house my masses of books. I was however slightly dismayed by the cost this time round. I buy these as I need a budget bookcase. This is now no longer what I would class as 'budget'. Come on guys. This is not real wood we're talking here. It's MDF.

The supplier has confirmed. The Argos Home Maine Deep Bookcase - White is made from particleboard with a wood effect finish and is not designed for high-humidity environments like bathrooms, so using it there could cause warping or damage over time.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Maine Deep Bookcase - White: The front panel is used to support base panel. If the legs are fixed directly under the base panel, then it will be fine to proceed this way.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Maine Deep Bookcase - Oak Effect: The material is particle board laminated with wood effect paper foil.
The unit includes 1 fixed shelf in the middle. The upper section has a height of 77.2cm with 2 adjustable shelves, while the lower section has a height 91.3cm with 2 adjustable shelves.
In addition, please note that the bookshelf cannot be customized.

I can advise the following for the Argos Home Maine Deep Bookcase - Walnut:
They will stick off the shelf as the total depth is 29cm which is the same depth as the folders. With where the back panel is positioned it would cause it to over hand slightly.
You can adjust the shelves so you will be able support the height.
