I know I should shouldn't say this, but is was surprisingly better than I expected! In my defence, I must say I have not shopped at Argos for a long time... years, maybe 40 years! They used to sell really cheap and nasty stuff. A bit like at Temu! But hey... they had what I wanted and I collecting a delivery anyway! So, the handed me the box, well package, and I thought "Wow! That's a lot heavier than I expected!" The light has a good, substantial base to it. The switch is conveniently located and easy to find in the dark (important on a lamp! Neglected by designers!). The switch has a positive and assuring feeling ... again important... "is it plugged in?" When you try it... not "Is the switch working?". The goose-neck stem to the light and magnifying glass is robust, stiff enough to hold the lamp in any position, but flexible to move it about without recourse to holding the base at the same time. The light is bright... but as it's so flexible, you don't need it blinding mother at the top of the stairs! It can be used as an up light or just pointed away. Finally , the magnifying glass is 2.5 x... perfect for most applications. You won't discover bacteria at that... but cheacking electical connections, a splinter in the finger... that sort of thing, reading tiny instructions... it's perfect 👍 I was, over all considerations, impressed. It might 'only' be a lamp... but I have since bought a tablet (very impressed) and some other bits and Bobby's! One quality sale and Argo have a new customer.

Purchased 2 weeks ago, exactly as described and perfect for it's intended use to enable me to see to tie fish hooks. Nice and when clear with led lights when plugged in via USB. Highly recommend.

Excellent lamp for crafting and colouring
I bought this lamp after my old lamp stopped working. It took a while to find something that would be a suitable replacement and I eventually found this one on the Argos site. The product has exceeded my expectations. It is very well built with a strong "goose-neck" and a weighted base. So many other lamps I reviewed seemed to be more flimsy or the base was not weighted causing the lamp to topple. I would certainly look to purchase another of these should my partner's craft lamp stop working

This lamp is fitted with USB cable, so can be plugged into a USB portal.
