Having looked into this. Hard wax is meant to be more gentle on the skin and used for more sensitive areas, as less painful to remove. Soft wax is meant to be better for larger areas, such as legs or back.

No lid for storage. The pot with handle is for hard wax so this set if there's any left. The soft wax comes in its own pot with screw on lid.

The supplier has advised the following for the Rio Total Body Waxing Hair Removal Kit:
“ The end consumer can use the plastic pot that the soft wax is supplied in directly with the heater that comes with the kit.
However we are unable to comment on other manufacturer’s plastic pots being able to be used directly in the heater. ”

Yes you can. I have placed the plastic pot of wax that came with the waxing heater inside and it was perfectly safe. The tub of wax is quite tough so will need abit of heating before it can be removed. However the heater does take awhile to heat the wax from a plastic tub. The heater is not strong enough to burn it or heat all of the wax in the pot quickly but it will soften it. Once it has been softened I placed the wax from the pot onto to heater then I started to see results and eventually the wax was able to get to a usable texture. Hope this helps!
