About this product
Compared to its predecessor, the P-225 features a much shorter and thinner body design with a compact style. This model looks beautiful from any angle, and blends in well with any room. To achieve a smaller product chassis, we developed the new GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard (88 keys), which is built to uncompromising standards and offers the same weighted acoustic piano-like playing feel as the GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keys used in previous models in the P Series.
The newly developed and more compact GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard on the new P Series reproduces the playing comfort of its predecessors in every way. Further, the keyboard unit is more compact than in previous models, while still offering an outstanding playing feel.
The P-225 gives you the sound of Yamaha's top of the line CFX concert grand, with shimmering highs and powerful lows. This model is equipped with Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) Lite, a digital technology that realistically reproduces the complex resonance produced by the strings of a grand piano.
Place the instrument wherever you like, or even take it with you. The P-225 provides a brilliant solution to these problems. The stylish black design of this instrument not only looks great, but due to its compact size you can take it with you to the studio, to live gigs or on a trip.
Access the features of this instrument with greater ease from the app: By linking the P-225 with Yamaha's dedicated free Smart Pianist digital piano app, you can intuitively perform all operations on the P-225 from the screen of your smart device.

Very happy with my purchase
Purchased a month ago and absolutely thrilled with it. A remarkable digital piano for the money. The weighted keys feel really good under hand and the voice options are neat too. It feels solidly built and performs really well. I’m a novice so it’s a pleasure to learn but I can imagine a seasoned pianist would appreciate this instrument too. Very happy and service from Argos was second to none.

Competent Digital Piano but Springy Action
The P-225 features excellent acoustic and electric piano voices. And the VRM adds some real heft to the lower registers, which I've found lacking in other digital pianos. The onboard recording facility has a generous capacity but seems quite sluggish. There's a noticeable delay for it to come online, and it takes several seconds to finish writing to memory. And Yamaha's GHC action has an oddly 'springy' feel to it. It's perfectly usable. But it feels more like a synth action with added weight than it does a true acoustic piano action. Lastly, the cashback offer from Yamaha is proving a nightmare to actually claim. So don't let that influence your decision. The P-225 features excellent acoustic and electric piano voices. great digital piano!
Among the other available digital piano in Argos, this was one of the better choice. However, I think it’s quite expensive for a beginner but if you’re serious about playing and learning, it’s worth the investment. Probably it will last for years since it’s a yamaha. Delivery was also quick and smooth even if it was handled by a third party.
