Dimplex Fan Heater
As always, very good fan heaters, always give out a lot of heat, great to add extra warmth to your house when you just need to take the edge off a cool room. Very good design, neat and compact and easy to store in a corner when not needed. Gives off cool air too.

Hi Diddy,
For the Dimplex DXFF30TSN 3kW Flat Fan Heater, the manufacturer recommends at least 750 mm (30 inches) of clearance above the heater from any overhanging surface.
Thank you for using Q&A
Thank you for your enquiry, This
heater is fitted with a rewirable plug incorporating a 13 amp fuse.
In the event of replacing the fuse in the plug supplied, a 13 amp
fuse approved by ASTA to BS 1362 must be used. If any other
type of plug is used, a 15 amp fuse must be fitted in the plug, the
adaptor, or at the distribution board, I hope this is of help
Cable size is 1.5 meters
Hello there. The Dimplex DXFF30TSN 3kW Flat Fan Heater blows hot air as it is a fan heater.
Thanks for using Q&A.
In cool blow with the elements not in use, the approximate usage will be 30 watts. Kind regards, Dimplex
Hi Lan,
The Dimplex DXFF30TSN 3kW Flat Fan Heater, is made in China.
Thank you for using Q & A
Thank you for your enquiry, I can confirm that the DXFF30TSN portable heater does come with a plug, I hope this is of help.
Hi Al,
Yes, this comes with a plug.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Gem
Yes you can, make sure you set the heaters desired power level and thermostat level first otherwise it might not work as intended.
Safety warning - make sure the smart plug can handle 13A or 3000W before using the 3KW setting, if it says something like max 10A or 2KW, put the heater on low power. Obviously make sure the heater isnt covered and the air outlet is far away from anything that could burn or melt
Good afternoon, Thank you for your question. We would not recommend this when using the product as it has not been tested or approved. Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
Hi Paul. Under the current UK Price Cap rates of 24.5p per unit, the full 3kW or 3000W setting would cost at-most 73.5p an hour, and the lower 1.5kW or 1500W setting would be 36.8p an hour. In all but the largest rooms though, it is unlikely you would need it on for a full hour though. And once the room is warm enough, turn the thermostat dial until it goes off, and it will only come back-on when needed
At full heat 3kW it will cost in the region of a pound an hour just for the electricity, no VAT or other utility standing charges included, based on UK price comparison sites stating 1kW used per hpur hour costs 34p at the start of 2023. This would use three times 1kW, running one hour at maximum. A previous answer mentioning 10p per kWh has not been applicable in the UK for years. This little heater chomps a lot of power but heats up instantly, no wait and no warmup.
Thank you for your enquiry, the best way to work out the running costs is to X the kw by the amount you are being charged per KWH by your electricity company ie
1 kw x 10p per KWH will cost 10p per hour to run
2 kw x 10 per KWH will cost 20p per hour to run
3 kw x 10p per KWH will cost 30p per hour to run.
I hope this is of help
Hi Paul,
It would depend on the Dimplex DXFF30TSN 3kW Flat Fan Heater setting level being used and the energy tariff for the electricity on the property. As there are so many variables we are unable to advise you further.
Thank you for using Q&A
All electric heaters do is to use electricity to make heat one way or another. This fan heater provides instant heat and will switch itself off when the temperature reaches the level you have set. To tip, buy a room thermometer so you spcan see the temperature in the room and don't be tempted to go to a high temperature. A radiator will use the same energy but over a longer time. A convector will be quieter and send the heat upwards but use the same energy. Gas central heating is cheaper per kilowatt but nit so good if you only want to heat one room
We have had a number of this model of heater over the years and replace like with like. Although they are regarded as occasional heaters, we have used ours on a regular basis and find them reliable. With this higher level of use, we reckon to get about three years before failure. To answer the specific question, they are not noisy as such but you are aware of the background hum plus the switching on and off when the thermostat is at settings below. maximum output. They kick out a lot of heat even on the number one setting, the only drawback being running costs in the current fuel crisis. On the number one setting of 1.5 kilowatts, running cost after the likely price cap tariff will be 51 pence an hour, and double that on the three kilowatt number two setting.
In summary, good heater, reliable but expensive to run.
Thank you for your enquiry, there will be some slight noise from the heater as there is a fan blowing , I hope this is of help.
not that I remember we were pleased with it
