A very good product apart from when have to change the battery. I noticed that a screw holds battery in place and I decided to check that could access after purchase rather than wait until needs changing. I had problems finding correct screwdriver and took into Argos store where they were able to unscrew the battery compartment. The manufacturer should state size of screwdriver required.

Delighted with these scales. Bought to replace an identical type ( Chinese ) which was only a few months old but I couldn’t get the battery flap to open as the screw was minuscule and I didn’t have a screwdriver that tiny. This set doesn’t have a screw to get to battery, it just flips open. No stepping on and off to get it going, just straight on and there’s your weight, in lbs and stones or kilograms. Also shows 1/4 1/2 and 3/4 of a lb. Very pleased indeed and a bargain price.

The above answer is incorrect, these scales show quarter, half and three quarters of a lb.

The Salter Compact Bathroom Scale - White, allows you to switch between metric and imperial weight measurement. This will be shown in the instructions leaflet and the button to change this is normally found by the battery area.
