About this product
The Karcher SC 2 Upright is a steam mop designed to clean sealed hard floors using steam and water. It heats up in just 30 seconds and gives you continuous steam for as long as you need, thanks to the refillable 0.4l water tank that you can top up while you're working. The trigger lets you control when the steam comes out, and there's variable steam control plus overheat protection built in.
The EasyFix floor nozzle uses a hook-and-loop fastener so you can swap out the microfibre cloth without touching any dirt. It works on sealed wood, tile, laminate, parquet, cork, stone, linoleum and PVC floors. The 5m cord gives you plenty of reach, and at 3.2kg it's not too heavy to move between rooms. The steam flow rate is 38g per minute, and Karcher recommends using just water. You get the EasyFloor tool with a microfibre floor cloth and a descaler cartridge included.

Solid and effective
We have had a few steam mops over the years, the last working reasonably well but then getting dropped and it's neck snapped. We initially purchased a more powerful mop of the same brand, but had to send it back for a refund, as it required constant pressing of a lever on the handle, which only worked intermittently. The whole thing seemed kecky. It was also heavy and had a triangle shaped pad which did not get into corners well. What a breath of fresh air this Karcher is. It gives the heavy tiled floors a good soaking but they dry quick from being warm. The more delicate laminate floors get a gentler clean and dry almost instantly. Because of the shape of the head, you can slide it sideways into gaps, and it has right angles to get into corners properly. The large water reserve is a big plus, as is being able to remove it to place it under the tap. The wire is just about long enough though I would welcome it being a bit longer to avoid use of extension leads in one room of the house. It is really solidly built and functional and I think it is well worth that little bit more than the cheaper types. Add in the 3 year warranty that you get for buying direct from the maker, I think is good value. So far, this is the best we have had, and I did not see anything else that would hold a candle to it's effectiveness.

A good steam cleaner
This steam cleaner is better than the one it replaced. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't hold enough water to clean all the floors I need it for and refilling it makes the job take much longer than before. Otherwise, it cleans very well.

The Karcher SC 2 Upright Steam Cleaner will indicate when the cartridge needs to be replace via the indicator light.
The indicator light flashes red 1 hour before the run time expires.
When the run time of the decalcification cartridge is exhausted, the indicator light flashes quickly.
The pump switches off automatically (no water steam) to prevent damage to the device.

Hello Cher. The cloths to the Karcher SC 2 Upright Steam Cleaner are washable - however do not use a liquid softener as this will affect the ability of the cloth to absorb water. They can be washed up to 60degrees wash and can be tumble dried.

This is mainly designed for all types of sealed flooring including carpets. You could potentially use on your mattress or sofa however, this is not suitable for clothes. With regards to your sofa I would check with your retailer if it is safe as this would be dependant on the fabric.
