Didn’t work at all, just wouldn’t receive any signal. Tried multiple locations. Took it back.

Didn't work
This wouldn't connect when at home so in case I was in a dead spot I drove to various locations and it never worked, will be returning. Seems it's a faulty unit otherwise it's a poor bit of kit

Not easy to use out of the box
I bought this so that I can have secure wifi on the go, as my personal mobile doesn't have the data or coverage to deal with hotspotting reliably when away from office and home. While initially I was able to charge, log in and connect out of the box to devices I wanted to test it with, it has a number of usability issues. It's unclear what the battery charge is. Spent ages googling and there is a light indicactor that it is under 20% but no further information beyond that. It was under 20% and massively overheating after 2 hours so not happy with the battery life. Despite it working on first test and first outing, it then didn't work when I took it out the next time. Again a lot of self service googling to troubleshoot as nothing clear from the device or from the instructions to help. Turns out I had an "unread SMS" so had to log in multiple places, change passwords and figure out how to get into EE just to mark it as read. There was nothing on the device or on my laptop to indicate why the wifi wasn't working. No easy way to track usage / need to top up either, and see others online having issues with this. Have spent longer on set up and troubleshooting than I have actually using it for its intended purposes.

Good coverage
This is the third unit I have bought. Data is more than sufficient for my needs. Coverage mirrors EE's coverage and so whilst there are areas where a different mobile provider might be better, on the whole, this gives me portable coverage in most of the spots I travel to. It's also cheaper to buy a unit every year than to sign up for any monthly or 3-monthly top-up deals. That's a shame as I now have 2 other perfectly fine units which I must recycle. It would be good if EE sold a yearly data top up option.
