The Samsung Series 5 8kg tumble dryer brings efficient drying to your home with heat pump technology that's gentle on fabrics and your energy bills. Designed for drying cottons, synthetics, delicates and wool, this freestanding appliance uses OptimalDry technology with moisture and temperature sensors to automatically adjust drying time, protecting your clothes whilst achieving an A energy rating with annual consumption of 235kWh.
This heat pump dryer offers 18 programmes including a 35 minute quick dry, cupboard dry, easy iron and anti-crease options to suit every load. The LED display and Wi-Fi connectivity make programme selection simple, with a delayed start of up to 24 hours and indicators for time remaining, filter status and reservoir level. The reversible door allows flexible installation, whilst the front water container and fluff filter keep maintenance straightforward. Measuring H85 x W60 x D60cm and weighing 48kg, this corded dryer operates at 65dB and comes with a 2 year manufacturer's guarantee.

I was sceptical at first, but this Samsung heat‑pump dryer has completely won me over. The drum capacity is ideal for everyday loads, it’s gentle on fabrics, and the machine itself is quiet and easy to live with. A brilliant upgrade that does exactly what it promises.

Good machine
I have bought this machine a month ago and so far it's proving to be a good purchase. 8kg capacity works fine for our household (2 kids and 2 grownups), definitely better on fabrics than our last vented dryer, cycle time was a bit of a worry on 1st run, but it adjusts it through the cycle. Can't say anything about power consumption, haven't done the numbers yet but technically it should be more efficient. SmartThings connectivity, in my opinion, is just unnecessary gimmick. But, we are in 2026. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and with whole process from buying to delivery with Argos. Top job.

I bought this 3 weeks ago. I'm pleased that it's so smart to provide time of the circle depending on the weight of the laundry. I would say it's loud, but less than washing machine. And it sends me notifications when the circle is done)

Thanks for getting in touch with us "Samsung DV80CGC0B0AEEU 8KG Heat Pump Tumble Dryer - White" has a manual removable water slab draw on the front.
You would take it out slowly after you have used it and you would tip the water out and then put it back in, so it can collect water for you.

I can advise that the Samsung DV80CGC0B0AEEU 8KG Heat Pump Tumble Dryer - White features a hose that sends waste water to your pipes or a sink with the supplied connectors. This machine doesn't require a connection to an outside drain.

Hello there LG. For the Samsung DV80CGC0B0ABEU 8KG Heat Pump Tumble Dryer please see the link below to the user manual and turn to page 15. The way to use the machine over a sink or drainage system is outlined for you here. There is no container for water with this machine.

Having checked I can see this machine can be used without WIFI however you wont be able to use the SmartThings app unless connected to the WIFI.
