About this product
Bring a fresh breeze and vintage charm to your room with this ceiling fan and light that keeps you comfortable year-round. It circulates air to help you feel cooler in summer and warmer in winter, creating a pleasant atmosphere whether relaxing with family or doing tasks. The bright white finish and woven insets on the four fan arms add a stylish touch that suits bedrooms, living rooms, or any space needing light and airflow. Controlled by two pull chains with wooden pulls, one for fan speed, one for light, it's powered by your room's main light switch.
The fan replaces your central ceiling light fitting and comes with clear instructions for installation. It uses a single E27 golfball LED bulb up to 10 watts, so you can choose your preferred light colour and brightness. The 42cm drop gives you enough clearance for safe operation, and the durable construction means it'll keep running reliably season after season. This ceiling fan is easy to assemble and offers good airflow and value, but many users report it is noisy, vibrates, and has installation challenges. Suitable for small rooms if noise is not a concern.

Not bad, not great
It’s okay, but it doesn’t generate as much for a breeze as I’d hoped. It looks okay, but it’s pretty big and heavy! For the size, I had hoped for more of a breeze but it does do okay. They’re easy to assemble but you need electrical knowledge to install them. To be honest if you’re looking for something to help you keep cool but you’d need to pay for someone to install it, I wouldn’t say it’s that worth it, unfortunately.

Terrible
I bought two, installed one the next day and it was awful, make a terrible humming noise that get worse when you put the glass of light, I am sorry argos, I always use argos to buy things I need and I won't stop, but this product not worth the money, even if it is free... I mean if you have a conservatory, shed, or a workshop it may be fine, but not for a bedroom, you won't have a good night sleep, or may used some ear plugs. After that I take it back to the shop and they only accept one, because I already use one... so don't buy it you won't be able to return it or get refund just because is noisy...

Good value
Easy to assemble despite poor instructions. Bought as replacement fan. Much better way to hang fan from ceiling than previous fan.

Vibration from glass shade
Easy to install, the instructions were not helpful. The 2* is for appearance only as is very noisy, i think rather than returning it i will remove the glass shade ,as it seems to be vibrating.

Great replacement to old unit - well worth it
Bought this to replace the same model which is now nearly 30 years old, and I am not dissappointed except that the brackets and blades are different "whites". Instructions are fairly clear, except if the unit wobbles, then you get a separate tiny instruction sheet in a paper envelope to fix it. Thankfully, I didn't need it.

Awesome cealing fan with light and pull cord
Love this Fan put it in the bedroom ..It was so easy to put up i just let my husband do it I just held the ladder and made the coffee .. it has 2 speeds fast and slow and i dont mean my husband it took him 1 hour to assembl and put it up and thats not bad for a 72 year old Painter and decorator with one leg ....I keep it on the high as i prefere that speed just like my husband I don't call him speedy for nothing .... It gives of a good air flow and keeps my bedroom cool ...It's very quiet and doesn't interupt sleeping unlike my husband when he Snores even the neighbors complain. ... I Would Recomend it for a bedroom or a small living room with lower cealings .Also the price is Amazing Under 40 pounds and no delivery charge if you pick it up from store I give Score 10 out of 10 ..

Hello Ross,
The supplier has advised the following for the Argos Home Schoolhouse Fan - White:
This ceiling fan cannot be flush-mounted; it must be installed using the hanging pole attached to the ceiling.
Thanks for using Q&A
Hello Jazz,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Argos Home Schoolhouse Fan - White: Yes, this is possible because the product has independent fan and light wires (clearly marked), which connect separately to the household mains power supply.
This allows the customer to connect only the fan wire to the mains if they do not wish to use the light. In this configuration, the fan will be fully operational. However, it is essential that any wire not connected to the mains is properly insulated and secured so that it does not touch any metal parts of the ceiling canopy.
Additionally, the product is fitted with two separate pull‑cord switches—one for the fan and one for the light. Alternatively, the customer may choose to connect all product wires to the mains supply and simply operate the fan using the fan pull‑cord switch only, leaving the light switched off via its pull cord.
Thank you for using Q&A.

Hello Les,
The supplier has advised the following for the Home Schoolhouse Fan - White:
No reset button, as this ceiling fan is manually operated by 2 pull cord switches, one for the light and other for the fan.
It also has forward and reverse modes operated by the F/R switch as per stated on the IM supplied with this product.
Thank you for using Q&A.
found that if the glass light cover is not screwed down right the noise is bad
Its very very noisy, so much so I dont use the fan at all , just the light so it defeats the object of it really. If I could have took it back for a refund I would but its a bit hard when it was fitted by an electrician so just cut my losses.
