Great bit of tech
Bought this a few weeks ago and it's already been such a great bit of tech! We have excellent internet in our home so we don't experience latency or lag issues, but I imagine if your net is slow you might have some issues with responsiveness. I like how you can adjust the brightness setting with ease and it's incredibly light-weight making it easy to carry around the house

Returned! So it works as a screen mirror, once connected to ps5 you can play on the ps portal but no one else can use the ps5, and to play out and about remotely you need to pay £120 subscription annually

Poor gaming
I brought this so i could spend time with my family downstairs alongside having my PS4. The console is quite slow, and lags a lot when playing games so i don't use it as much as i would like to for this reason.

PS Portal can connect to any Playstation account without owning a PS5. You dont need to download games or own a PS5. The games stream from the cloud like Netflix streams movies or, OPTIONALLY, from your own PS5 if you choose.
You can buy PS5 games from the Playstation store on your phone etc. These will be available to play on your Portal. Not all PS5 games support cloud streaming. Cloud streaming is a 13.50 per month PS Plus Premium service which includes a library of over 200 games.

While this can be used in this way, the connection will be the determine factor, you will need a Mi-Fi or mobile hotspot that allows connections over Wi-Fi to be able to use it this way. This is designed though to be used in the same household as the PS5.

From the information available. You do require a Playstation console that must be switched on, to be able to use the Remote Portal. It streams games from your PS5 over your home Wi-Fi. Just ensure your PS5 is on and connected to the internet.
