Great seat and price
I got this when it was on sale. It is a great seat. However I was very concerned when I saw it had a recall due to a safety issue. I checked my batch number and it had the recall batch number. I contacted Argos about this and they have assured me there are only certain dates when the seat was sold that these seats were affected. I have since received an email from Argos explaining that if the seat has green dot on the batch number they are NOT affected. I purchased in september 2024, the safety issue was for seats sold between September 2023 and March 2024. So I am completely trusting Argos after the email that my seat is 100% safe. They would not lie about something as serious as a child carrier seat being safe if it wasn't, so ignore the reviews that state it is not safe if you intend to purchase after this was rectified (March 2024) it is as good as a maxi cosi at half the price!

Response from argos:
In April 2024 Argos issued a recall for the Cuggl Infant Carrier Car Seat with Isofix Base. The product was taken off sale, inspected by a professional third-party company and all stock is now compliant. This stock was placed back on sale on 10th May 2024. On the 20th August our recall notice was posted on the Government website by Trading Standards. Argos want to reassure you that this is not a new recall, and only covers the car seats purchased between 11th September 2023 and 26th March 2024. All stock sold after 10th May 2024, had a green sticker dot applied to the outer box and the batch code label on the products base. We apologise for any confusion caused by the latest communication around this. If you purchased your car seat between the dates 11th September 2023 and 26th March 2024, please check your Infant Carrier for the serial and batch number located on the seats base. If you find your product is part of this recall, please do not use the handle to carry the infant carrier and please contact us on our helpline on: UK FREEPHONE– 0800 0113 462

Nice easy to use
I’m happy with car seat , feels safe to use

Product recalled before it was even sold to me!
Given that the product was recalled in March and Argos notifying of the recall on the website, I think it’s apalling that I was sold one of the recalled batch numbered seats in august. It doesn’t seem ethical of Argos to be selling the product let alone putting it on sale to clear when they are recalled due to safety concerns - the handle failing!! When returned to store, there was not even an apology given and it seemed like an inconvenience to the staff that they had to issue a refund.
