Bag seals failed.
Both bags had swollen after 24 hours so I assume that they didn't seal correctly. Very disappointing.

Ensured the double zips are sealed together.
I bought this two pack of large vacuum storage bags for storing a summer weight king sized duvet in one of them. It appeared to be too large but was in fact just large enough to squeeze the duvet inside it. I zipped the bag closed with the double zip and used a vacuum cleaner to suck out the air with an excellent result, then screwed the cap over the vacuum connection. After two days I noticed that air had go inside the bag which had become partially inflated. When I checked the double zip I discovered that I had not carefully nipped the zip together properly. After doing so and sucked out the air again, the problem was solved.

Hello Andyroo.
Argos Home Pack of 2 Large Vacuum Storage Bag:
Each bag measures L85 x W55cms.
Thank you for using Q&A.
I think the bit missing from the Argos reply, is how you use the vacuum cleaner. After you have filled the bag, and sealed the open end, you unscrew the small round valve cap on the side of the bag, put your vacuum cleaner hose over the open valve until it sucks all the air out, then screw the valve cap back on to keep the vacuum sealed. They usually come with instructions or are sometimes printed on the bag. Hope this helps.
Hello Ash007,
The supplier has advised the following for the Pack of 2 Large Vacuum Storage Bag:
- Firstly you fill up and then seal the vacuum bag at the end.
- Unscrew the cap on the round air outlet/inlet.
- Making sure that your home vacuum can fit the air outlet, you slot it onto the outlet and then draw/pump the air out.
- Then you screw the cap back in to prevent air reentering.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Nanny Dete,
The supplier has advised the following for the Pack of 2 Large Vacuum Storage Bag:
If using the large vacuum bag, the open part is 58cm wide and the bag is 85cm in depth. If the two folded quilts are smaller than that size, they should be able to fit in this. Without knowing the thickness, brand, and type of duvet you have, we cannot give an exact answer.
I hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi Sandie,
For storing a quilt we would recommend the jumbo size bags. For details please see the link below:

Thanks for using Q&A
You MUST use a VACUUM CLEANER HOSE TO SUCK OUT THE AIR of ANY Vacuum Storage Bags! This is HOW THEY ARE DESIGNED TO BE USED! There is NOT an effective way to remove enough air yourself, WITHOUT USING the hose of a vacuum cleaner to suck out the air! You will NOT be able to push out enough air yourself, as the reply suggested, or to keep it out and screw on the valve cap. The reply is ridiculous, will be completely INEFFECTIVE, and you risk breaking the bag! Hope this helps make things clear.
Hi Nisey,
To seal a Argos Home Pack of 2 Large Vacuum Storage Bag without a vacuum.
Fill the space bag almost all the way full, leaving a little place on top.
Press out as much air as you can and seal the bag almost closed, leaving a little path for the trapped air to release.
Press the bag against something until the air trapped inside the bag is released.
Now seal the bag closed.
Thank you for using Q&A
