Easy to read screen
I bought 2 of these. Pleased with them. They are easy to read and changed automatically when the clocks went back. They are quite light which makes them feel flimsy but nevertheless seem quite robust.

Alarm clock
Very smart, attractive clear LCD display. Easy to set up. Unfortunately the alarm volume is too low and there is no way to adjust it. I can't recommend it to anyone to use as an alarm clock.

Great looking, good time
this was a gift for my husband (I know) as his old bedside clock had stopped picking up the signal to set it. This is a great replacement, works very well, clear numbers and easy to set/adjust. Nice styling.

Light goes off
Not mains powered so light goes out to save the batteries. That is a major let down.On the plus side the clock was easy to setup and use.

Unimpressed!
Bought this and on opening it didn’t have any instructions and felt cheap and plastic , tried it out and within 3 days it started rattling as if a piece of plastic inside had come loose, returned for a refund.

Good times
A clear display even when viewed from a slight angle. Considering the information displayed I'd say it's quite good value for money. It can be stood upright or slightly tilted back on its stand / battery compartment which is a fair amount of flexibility. Only a gentle tap on the top will activate the backlight, which is nice although I would prefer if it stayed lit a little longer. The primary reason I wanted the Varsity is my decades-old "wave ceptor" Casio watch has developed a fault and this particular clock both corrects its timekeeping every night using the special signal all "radio controlled" clocks and watches use daily, and it shows the seconds as part of the time. I don't need every timepiece I own to be bang on, but I like the reassurance of at least one being so for reference which can be read simply and immediately (and no, the clock on your phone can be off by a second). I initially had some real issues getting it to find the radio signal, almost returning it to Argos as unfit for purpose, but I think this is partly due to where I live, and since I've finally found a good spot for it to sit and the reception icon has been displayed for a couple of days then overall I'm happy.
