About this product
The Panasonic KX-TGE822EB Big Button Cordless Phone makes home calling simple, especially if regular buttons are tricky. This twin pack includes handsets for two rooms, each with larger buttons and clear characters to prevent misdials. The LED indicator shows incoming calls at a glance, while Talking Caller ID announces who's ringing before you pick up. The automated call block filters unwanted calls. Callers not in your phonebook must press a number to get through, automatically disconnecting robocalls.
It's hearing aid compatible with amplified sound for clearer conversations, plus handsfree calling and adjustable speaker and ringer volumes. The answer machine records up to 40 minutes of messages with personalised options. With up to 18 hours talktime or 250 hours standby, you won't need frequent recharging. It works up to 50m indoors and 300m outdoors, with out of range and low battery indicators. You get 10 name and number memories, 40 ringtones, last number redial, caller ID, call log, and call divert. Ready to use and backed by a 3-year manufacturer's guarantee. Plenty of options to choose if needed.
Phone is packed with lots of options, baby moniter, alarm clock, plus a lot of other stuff, if you just want a phone as i did you wont use a lot of the options on it, simple to use if you have a play with initial set up to find what you want, but i find the phones volume a bit low when speaking, but its ring is loud and can be adjusted, buttons nice and big if eyesight is not so good, and it does come with its cords and plugs, this model does come with a booklet on how to use it so dont worry, its early days so still getting used to it, but im pleased with my purchase .

Big buttons. Easy to use answer phone ,great phone
Bought this for my 93 year old mum. She is partially cited so needed a phone with large clear buttons. The answer machine was really easy to set up. The buttons are clear and mostly easy to read. We've just moved to digital phone and it works perfectly it's super clear and loud enough and we're really happy with the purchase. This was to replace an older model also Panasonic however this does seem like a big improvement on the older model..

Update from original poster. Contacted Virgin Media who checked the line and said there were no issues. However the caller ID functions on the new phone then started working. So far very pleased with it. Have set it to do not disturb during the night. If the call screening functions work as described it should stop the endless calls from scammers.
