Special forces operator's must have
Absolutely love this G-Shock watch looks great and will be great while on operations over the globe with the 5 world time features and with the solar power charging I'll never have to worry about it running out of power whilst on missions. As a special forces operator I value this watch immensely.

Great size on wrist
Great size on the wrist, not too chunky. Love the retro look. The instructions are impossible to follow but just ask Ai and it tells you how to very easily set time etc

The Watch to Replace Your Entire Collection
TLDR: A do-it-all watch that is perfect if you want to move away from smartwatches. It's durable and basically indestructible which you can find from the plenty of stories you can find online. It's simple, maybe ugly, but Multiband 6 and Tough Solar makes this the perfect watch for anyone that wants a simple "set and forget" watch. This is the M5610U and comes with more alarms and more preset world time. The upgraded module comes with a very bright Super Illuminator which works perfectly at night. There are some negatives but they're more nitpicks than anything as the watch doesn't do anything poorly. I had an itch that wanted to be scratched for the longest time and it was so unbearable that I ended up buying this last week. My everyday watch was the LCW-M100DE and the M5610U (this is the M5610U and not the older M5610) has been the watch that I've picked up every single day and have worn it with comfort despite my wrists being small at lower end of 6 inches. Like the Lineage, this watch has Multiband 6 which connects to Atomic Clock radio stations and ensures time accuracy. You won't have to mess around with setting the time and as it is quartz, even after receiving no signal for a few weeks or a month, it should retain its accuracy. This watch is also solar-powered and like my other watch, this thing can and will run as long as it is exposed to light (indoor or outdoor), negating the need to worry about a battery replacement in the near future. These two features alongside Casio's list of features with alarms, chronograph, world time, and a timer makes this the best watch that you can buy. It will do anything you want accurately and if you want to move away from smartwatches then this is definitely a must-buy. The backlight surprised me with how bright it was. I didn't expect much from Super Illuminator but it lights up the display so well in the dark. The auto-illuminator is really handy as you hardly ever need to press the Light button unless you don't want to move your wrist to the specified angle to activate it. I haven't tested the water-resistance personally as I tend to keep my watches away from water, but at 20Bar (200m) WR, you can be much more careless with this than other watches. It's also a G-Shock so you can expect it to take a beating and see it running despite the wear. Other than talk about the features, a big positive is how light it is. I've come from a few steel watches, two quartz watches which are my Tissot with a heavy Milanese bracelet, the other quartz being Casio's Lineage which is roughly 100g so it's quite light in comparison, and lastly my automatic Seiko 5 which is around 110g. The M5610U is so comfortable that even when snug, it almost disappears on wrist. I've slept with it on occasion and hasn't really bothered me like the steel watches I have. If you come from Titanium watches then it may be more familiar in feeling. The band is surprisingly comfortable. I didn't expect much from the stiff resin strap and you at least don't have to deal with the cheaper hair pullers from Casio's cheaper watches. A big positive is the fact that you can still use the features while knowing what time it is which is displayed on the top right box. I do think the whole positive is the watch itself as it's hard to find anything else to talk about. I did mention the other features and it's worth mentioning that it has 5 Alarms and 5 World Time locations that you can set. It's hard to find anything to fault with this watch but be aware that this does have a quiet alarm and the viewing angles may not be as great as other G-Shock squares like the DW-5600. I don't think the viewing angles issue is a deal breaker and I do think that pictures/videos of it makes it much more worse than it actually is as it is perfectly legible at the angles you would be viewing your watch. Another thing is that when under illumination by the LED, when you view it slightly above rather than below, the display may fade slightly? I don't see much talk about it but I haven't looked into it all too much. One last downside, it's a small thing but it's the buttons. I believe the G-Shock squares are somewhat notorious for this and it's really something you should expect when you get it. If you come in knowing this then it's more of a nitpick than a real issue. If you don't have longer nails then it might be a pain to use but I haven't had any issues with it at all. It's not a stunning watch but it definitely catches my eye when it's on my wrist. I do find myself looking at the M5610U a lot and I end up playing around with the functions every now and then. If you're starting your collection, then once you've been bitten by the bug, you'll end up wanting more. It's the best watch I've ever owned, it's comfortable, it's iconic, it's not special but it has all that you need and offers more in a watch. NOTE: If you are setting this up for the first time, you may have to set DST to "ON" or "OFF" to set the time via radio. I found this out with my Lineage and after the first successful radio sync, you shouldn't have any problems with syncing unless you have issues with signal. Casio does also suggest you keep it near a window and facing the direction of the nearest station.

Great watch
Great watch for everyday use. Has solar power so never needs a battery and also has radio receiver to set the time automatically. Bit expensive but I'm pleased with it

1983 watch remastered for today
Great everyday watch. No need to worry about accuracy or batteries, it's robust so it'll withstand a beating, and it's easy to read, especially with the auto light.

Great all rounder
I’m very pleased with this item. As when travelling it’s so hard to get lost with time zones And @ the touch of a button I can see exactly what time it is And not be running late to the next gate. When connecting to the next flight. Anyone who has done long flights will understand this. That and the G shock is of course a classic watch it’s very accurate as it sets twice a day so if I’m late that’s my problem not a problem with their classic G Shock

Hello Will,
The supplier has advised the following for the
Casio G-SHOCK Men's Black Resin Strap Watch:
The GW-M5610-1ER is designed specifically for use with a resin strap, and we do not manufacture or supply a nylon band compatible with this particular range.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hello Bobby,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Casio G-SHOCK Men's Black Resin Strap Watch: The bezel of this watch around the red borderline is black.
Thank you for using Q&A.
It has one alarm, two adjustable clocks -world time, a countdown timer, a stopwatch. Its very much the same as most other casio digital watches and Im not sure its worth the price of a hundred pounds but thats the customers choice. The fact that its a G-Shock watch doesnt make it any more or less likely to be broken in an accident as with any watches so I wont be buying it when Ive found other options that do exactly the same as this one but are a quarter or even a fifth of the price. My opinion
Hello Harry,
For the Casio G-SHOCK Men's Black Resin Strap Watch.
This model has 5 independent alarms. You cannot adjust the alarm volume.
Thank you for using Q and A.
I bought this watch today from Argos...its the M5610U
Hello Gabriel,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Casio G-SHOCK Men's Black Resin Strap Watch: ''Please note that the "U" version is the newer version and is the only variant of this particular model. The non "U" version was discontinued in 2021.''
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hi There.
Casio G-SHOCK Men's Black Resin Strap Watch:
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It has been passed back to the Website team, who will update the information in due course.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hello Silky08,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Casio Men's G-Shock Black Resin Strap Watch: ''Please be advised that Casio products now come in a eco-friendly packaging and we no longer supply tins for our watches.''
Thank you for using Q & A.
Cardboard cartoon. There is no tin. The packaging is not decorative or fancy. It comprises three recycled paper cardboard parts and a seemingly natural cloth, possibly muslin, bag that contains it within the box. Within the bag, the watch is supported on a ring of cardboard in the bag.
Its one of the smaller mens Gshocks and. Could be worn by a 9yo but maybe big depending on how much he likes it!
I got my 9yo daughter something from the Baby G line, which is the g shocks aimed at women and children - that ordinarily would have smaller wrists.
Hello Keana,
The supplier has advised the following for the Casio Men's G-Shock Black Resin Strap Watch:
“ Please be advised that all of our watch straps are approximately 8 inches. The customer can adjust the strap to fit their wrist with the use of the strap holes. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
The one I got last week is the Updated GW-M5610U model so its date can be set as dd.mm.
A few days after collecting it, Argos kindly emailed me a Product Support message with links to Get Online Support and Instruction Manual. This instruction manual was just a single pdf sheet outlining the basic features etc and carried the old model number GW-M5610-1ER. A tiny full paperback manual is supplied with the watch and its pdf appears on its manufacturer website.
Ignore what Argos said, it makes no sense and is wrong. The U version is the updated version without the EL not the UK version!?! ER means it is the European version. There is contradictions in the pictures and the descriptions but looking through the reviews it seems around 2021 is when the U version is introduced to Argos stock, judging by the pictures. You could get weirdly lucky and receive an EL but you are definitely getting the LED version.
This is the M5610U which is the updated version that is able to show both the American date format of MM DD and the Eurorean date format of DD MM
Hello Sam
