poor product
Looks great, but is a nightmare to build and hang... its in two peices. not only is the wood very heavy, super soft and easily damaged. mine was damaged on arrival, had parts missing that could not be replaced and got further damaged trying to errect as its so easily scraped. terrible experience and would not recommend this product! its assembley is not for the faint hearted and is a two man job.

Great tv unit!
Managed to finally get my hands on the complete tv unit after it’s been out of stock for so long and even better was when it was in stock they had 20% off too! Delivery was as planned on the day I selected. It took 2 of us to build and was really quick considering how heavy it is! I’m an amateur DIYer but the instructions were easy to understand and thankfully they provide measurements for the wall section unit. You’ll definitely need to people to build this. Overall I’m really pleased with the price I paid.

Hello Sammy,

Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Mario,
The supplier has advised the following for the Cornelia Media Unit - Oak:
It is technically possible to repaint/stain this, as professional/qualified person may be able to do it, but it would be a complex process for a product like this and we could not guarantee success. Different panels and parts are made of different materials.
Also, this would count as an alteration and to do so would affect the item’s guarantee. Use of the wrong stains or incorrect finishing of the surfaces could cause significant damage to the item. We’d advise strongly against trying to refinish or repaint it.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hello Mario,
The supplier has advised the following for the Habitat Cornelia Media Unit - Oak:
We do not recommend the unit is stained by the customer.
Thank you for using Q&A.
Hi JG,
Thanks for your query about the Cornelia Media Unit - Oak.
No, this can only be built in the configuration shown as all the parts are made and pre-drilled to be fitted together in this way.
To alter or attempt to alter it would invalidate the product’s guarantee. Also, we would not cover faults caused by any alteration or by the use of 3rd party, non-original parts. (We also cannot provide cover for 3rd party parts). Were you to try to alter it to a different set up, it would be entirely at your own risk. We also cannot confirm that it’d cosmetically look as good in a different set up either.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Sammy,
The supplier has advised the following for the Cornelia Media Unit - Oak:
For the top shelf section, it's 15kg/per "layer". For the bottom unit section, it's 50kg in total for the whole unit.
Thank you for using Q&A.
I have a 55 inch TV so 10 inches smaller than the description says fits. It does NOT fit and has now been returned for a full refund.
As you say, mounting the shelving unit so it sort of fits looks weird as the legs wont meet the sideboard and doesnt account for the TV width.
I am surprised the description hasnt been amended. Its a shame as we actually liked it.
Hello Polly,
The supplier has advised the following for the Cornelia Media Unit - Oak:
The height measurement stated, 123cm, is the height of the top shelving section only, not the entire thing. This is because it comes as two separated sections, a bottom cupboard section, and the upper shelf section. Please note that the shelf section is fixed to the wall behind and the cupboard unit just sits underneath it. The two sections are not directly attached to each other. This is why it could accommodate a 65 inch screen. (It's 170cm wide).
The height of the TV unit is 50.6cm, including its legs. The wall shelf unit part is 123cm, as stated previously, so the overall combined total height is about 173.6cm if the upper section is set on the wall immediately above the cupboard section.
The TV would go on the left side as the wall unit section has the taller gap here.
Height of TV gap: 73.6cm (from the bottom of the unit up to the underside of the wide shelf).
Width of TV gap: 118.7cm (i.e. from left edge of little block of shelving to the left edge of the unit)
The gap is shorter on the right side of course, as it's got that extra "box" section of shelving that sticks out. The gap there is only 41.8cm tall.
Please also note that the unit fixes to the wall behind the cupboard underneath, not to the top of the cupboard, so you could set it a little higher on the wall if you so wished, so as to allow more room for a TV if extra height is needed.
(The lower TV unit section is also available separately on its own as cat no: 215/8424 and, for more info on that, please check out this link here):

I hope this helps.
