The luminous face on the watch will take time to charge up before it can give out light, and of course the luminescence will always be stronger at the beginning of a night shift as opposed to the end when the energy will have all been released as light. The best way to ensure your luminous watch has a good charge is to remember to leave it exposed in a well-lit environment when you are not using it so it can take on a high level of energy.

I have one of these fob watches myself for work. The back of the watch has 'Sekonda' and some trivial other engravings upon. These are approx. 10mm in diameter, therefore, that is essentially not a lot of room for anything else.
Don't know about engraving but yes it does come with a gift box
