No, the chemistry of these batteries is Nickel Metal Hydride.
Generally an Alkaline battery is single use, these are rechargeable.

The user guide for the lights will advise what size (physically and capacity in mAh) batteries are required, as long as it states it uses AA batteries with a 2300mAh they will be fine.
