This 2 Drawer Tall Wide Bookcase made from solid pine wood in a natural finish is an elegant and grand looking piece of furniture. It comes with 4 large shelving areas, 2 of which can be adjusted, and 2 large drawers with black finished handles. Wall fixings are included.

Lovely bookcase
Super bookcase. Sturdy and with a nice finish that matches one previously purchased from Argos. Might have benefitted from runners on the drawers and slightly clearer instructions, but otherwise fine.

The end product looks really good quality.
What lacked is the quality of the screws as they were no prescrew holes and the screws wasn't self tapping it took ages to get them through. I would recommend but with a warning about putting it together.

Hard work
It is solidly made but took 2 people several hours to assemble it. The instructions are unclear and leave a lot to be desired. Diagrams are too small and often don’t resemble the actual fittings provided. Holes are not always drilled in the right places and not where they should be. Once finished it looks great but it was much harder work than we expected. Took over 4 hours.

Good prduct shame about the fixings
Assembly instructions and final appearance are very good however my overall rating for the product is average. Low cost inappropriate fixings are the areas which undermines the quality of the product. Firstly the front facing are held in place with rough sawn wooden blocks attached with screws which do work well but do nothing for the overall look dedicated screwed brackets at the cost of pence would work better. Secondly the twist and lock fixings that hold the fixed shelves and ultimately the book case together and square do not work and gaps appear as the studs are pulled out of the side panels. Pre drilled holes and screws with caps would be a better solution as in my case. With these issues fixed I would give a 5 star rating for this product.

Looks fantastic!
I'd fill a whole room with these bookcases if I could! (Lord knows I need it for the piles of books I've got in every corner). So I bought this a while ago and it's lasting really well. The shelves are stable without any bowing and the draws are more spacious than they first look, it's built solidly but is still quite light and was easy to set up. Delivery was pain-free too which was fantastic.

Looks fabulous however…
I bought this Jan 2025. It comes in two boxes for easier transporting. They are quite heavy. It was without a doubt the worst thing ever to put together. All I will say is Absolutely 100% make sure you know which side is left and which side is right. Because it’s not very obvious from the diagram. If the producers just put a tiny little sticker on it would make the whole process so much easier!! We aren’t no beginners to flat pack either. We’ve done full kitchens in the past. But once it’s together it looks lovely. I’m going to change the handles to some cup style ones.

While the Argos Home 3 Shelves 2 Drawer Tall Wide Solid Pine Bookcase could be painted, I have to advise that this item has been treated with a wax and oil finish to prevent dirt ingress and preserve moisture and painting or spraying it would also invalidate your warranty.

The middle shelf is not adjustable the other two are adjustable.
The base of the drawers are 58.6 x 21.6 cm.
The sides of the drawers are 22 x 14 cm.
