Absolutely brilliant and dead easy to set up!
I bought a couple of these Tapo bulbs to replace the standard B22 bayonet bulbs in our living room and bedroom, and honestly, I am over the moon with them. I'm not a massive tech expert, so I was a bit worried they’d be a headache to connect, but the whole process took less than five minutes. You literally just twist the bulb in, download the free Tapo app, and it connects straight to your home Wi-Fi. The best part is you don't need to buy one of those expensive extra "hubs" or bridges to make it work—it just works right out of the box. The light quality is lovely. It’s a really nice, cosy warm white rather than that clinical, cold blue light you sometimes get with cheap LEDs. Being able to dim it right down to 1% from my phone or by asking Alexa is a total game-changer for watching movies or winding down in the evening. I've also set up a timer so it turns off automatically at midnight, which is brilliant because the kids always used to leave the lights burning downstairs all night. For the price, the value for money is incredible. It does exactly what it says on the tin and feels just as good as the really expensive brands. I’ll definitely be picking up a few more from Argos to do the rest of the house! Highly recommend.

I bought this Smart bulb as my first venture into Smart Home Technology and am very pleased with, so much so that I immediately purchased more! The App that you download to use the product is very easy to navigate and although it took two or three attempts to pair the device, all went well and it’s very easy to use. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Great features and simple to set up
We bought this to use as a timed light whilst we are on holiday and is perfect. We can set times for it to come on and go off and we have it on the landing but also with the app, we can turn it on and off from the comfort of out chair. It can also be linked to alexa so we can basically operate it from anywhere. Gives options for brightness and is really easy to set up. And for the price it is well worth it and we're really pleased with the purchase

1. The Tapo L510B is well-suited for use as a night light in a child's room. It emits a warm white light at 2700K, which provides a soft, comfortable glow.
It also supports brightness adjustment and dimming (via the Tapo app), so you can set it to a low, gentle level perfect for nighttime.
Additionally, you can use the Schedule feature to automatically turn it on and off at set times, or the Countdown Timer to have it switch off after a set period — very handy for a child's bedtime routine.
2. When the light switch is turned off, power to the bulb is completely cut, which means the bulb temporarily loses its smart connection.
However, the Tapo L510B supports a Default State feature, which allows you to configure exactly what state the bulb returns to when power is restored.
Here's how to set it up:
1. Open the Tapo app and tap on your L510B.
2. Tap the gear icon to access Device Settings.
3. Tap Default States and choose your preferred option:
• Last "ON" State – returns to the brightness it was last set to.
• Custom – returns to a specific brightness you define.
This means that even if the wall switch is used, the bulb will reliably come back to your preferred night light setting every time the switch is turned back on.

There is no limit to the number of smart devices that can be managed under a single account, you can have different Tapo models on the same app and same WI-FI, and even if your smart devices are in different locations or connected to different Wi-Fi networks, you can use the same Tapo app to control them if they are bound to the same TP-Link account.
