Customers Say
Stylish Russell Hobbs glass kettle with fast boiling, good capacity, and attractive blue illumination. Easy to clean and monitor water level but pouring and lid removal are common issues. Some find it noisy.

Quick Boil
Bought this to replace an older Russell Hobbs that had reached the end of it's life. Very quick boil and can boil just a small amount so no waste of electricity and water. Look s good too!

Poor pourer
The kettle is let down by the pouring from spout. With the lid lined up correctly it pours unevenly.

Russel Hobbs kettle
Not overly impressed with this kettle. It is good to look at, heats fast, BUT, spills water when pouring. Would have been far better with a flip lid instead of a removalabe one

Lovely glass carafe design
Really attractive looking kettle, I really like the carafe design. It boils quickly and it's good that you can see how much water you are using. My one complaint is that you have to remove the lid to fill it rather than being able to flip it up.

Smart looking kettle that boils very quickly
Smart looking kettle, but I was a bit disappointed to find that you have to remove the lid to fill it, my fault I suppose for not checking, but most kettles don't have removal lids, so it was a bit of a surprise. However, it boils up very quickly and is lit up blue whilst boiling, so overall I am very pleased with it......

Glass illuminated kettle
So far so good, I've had mine for about 6 weeks now, good looking kettle love the fact it is glass, limescale builds up very quickly but that's the joys of living in a hard water area but at least I can see it now, it's a tad noisy but that doesn't bother me, I would recommend this kettle

Doesn’t pour very well
The kettle looks nice but we really don’t like how it pours.

Stylish looking kettle!
I’m loving this new kettle, it looks very stylish and the illumination sets it off a treat. I live in a hard water area so the filter will be invaluable.

Clear , Quick and Noisy
We wanted a quick kettle with no microplastics, hence this glass trial , as a distress purchase. Argos were effectively selling it cheaper than Sainsburys within the same shop, with both in stock. We live in a modest limescale area but its a surprise to find compulsory monthly limescale treatment as a guarantee term once inside the box Exactly what this means isn't so clear. What is clear is that it works quickly, so it will get through power fast, so you need to keep the filling close to what you need . For Mugs this seems to be twice the number of cups painted on the glass. Its extremely noisy and drowns ot spoken word Radio adjacent !

I have hard water. I wipe out the kettle frequently. Once a week, or when the limescale does not wipe off any more, I use lemon juice to descale. Fill kettle up to where limescale ends, add 12 shakes of lemon juice and swish around, leave to soak for a few hours, then boil and leave to cool. Wipe out and rinse well with cold water.
Hello Spalding S,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Russell Hobbs Black Classic Glass Kettle 26080: ''To remove the scale, descale the appliance at least monthly in a soft water area or even more often in a hard water area or any time when you can see scale build up inside of the kettle with a proprietary descaler.
Follow the instructions on the package of descaler.''
