Overall, I'm happy with this kettle. The kettle looks good and the metal base is easy to de-scale with just a little cleaner as the glass can simply be wiped.The lid needs to be removed to fill the kettle, which some may find tricky. My biggest dislike is the loud noise the kettle makes when boiling. It's enough to stop you chatting if you're nearby.

I have hard water. I wipe out the kettle frequently. Once a week, or when the limescale does not wipe off any more, I use lemon juice to descale. Fill kettle up to where limescale ends, add 12 shakes of lemon juice and swish around, leave to soak for a few hours, then boil and leave to cool. Wipe out and rinse well with cold water.
