Simple and effective at cooking white rice and whole grain basmati, though still lots to learn. Easy enough at steaming veg too. I’ve just bought a copy of the now out of print recipe book for this rice cooker. This is probably the only issue encountered so far - the lack of detail on how to cook in it. To say the user manual gives brief coverage to actually cooking in it would be an understatement. Great value and does a first rate job, just be prepared to learn by doing and to making some mistakes on the way.

Just bought this as a replacement for my old rice cooker. Steamer tray is really handy. Can fit a bowl of uncooked food in the main bowl on a stainless steel rack as well if the steamer tray isn't useable

Good cooker but not for rice
Not so suitable to cook rice as it's burning the rice but really a good product for steaming, it's so quick. I'm happy with the capacity and easy to cleanup.

Our supplier has advised that the Russell Hobbs 1.8L Rice Cooker and Steamer - Silver non stick is Whitford coating and it does contain PFAS, but all our coatings are food grade and below required levels so if ingested the coating will pass through the body and because the coating itself is a hardened blend of materials any parts will not leach out.
