An excellent piece of kit.
My lovely wife is the main user but I've had a go and found it to be an excellent piece of kit. Quick pressure-up time, loads of constant steam with a boost that could blow your socks off the ironing board!! The iron is not too heavy, the temperature settings are just right and the Durilium soleplate glides effortlessly. The black and gold colour scheme looks classy. I usually perform the set-up before our ironing sessions (twice weekly) and I noticed an improvement on previous similar models that we've used - there is now a dedicated press-button to unlatch the water tank making it much easier to withdraw than previous models that have a heavily loaded fixed spring. Storage of the steam delivery tube could do with a rethink because, when still warm after use, it's far easier to double it and push it through the aperture in the front of the main body than it is to pull out when cold. In addition, fitting a strain relief grommet would benefit the power cord where it emerges from the side of the main body.

Gave this piece of kit a good initiation with 3 hours of ironing! I do it as part of my job & luckily enjoy it! It's like therapy! The generator before this lasted me years (was the same brand) & I would not revert to an ordinary iron! Tiny issues are when on semi permanent steam, my hand position is over the control buttons so I've had to train myself to hold it differently. The other little quirk is a headlight of all things! Really...who irons in poor light?! Anyhow makes no difference to the performance & efficiency which is brilliantly quick!

Poor quality and leaks brown water from new.
This is a replacement for my tefal pro that has served me well for around 15 years and my third tefal steam generator iron. The box arrived direct from Tefal with lots of blue tape around it. When I opened it I was surprised at the way it was packed, none of the usual plastic bags over items but thought perhaps it was for environmental reasons, which I applaud. The design of the casing is poor, no auto rewind of the power cord and the steam cord casing is far too small to accommodate it properly. On first use, it spat brown stuff all over my clothes despite following instructions. Have tried again by turning down the mode to low steam, but again brown stuff all over my white linen once again. I am preparing to return it as I now believe that I’ve been sent a previously returned item. Not the quality I expected from Tefal.
