Bought this a few months ago to help my lo at night when she was full of cold. It has really helped and she has gone from waking frequently in the night when she has a cold to only once or twice. It also comes apart easily to clean.

To keep your Vicks VUL510 Ultrasonic Humidifier fresh and free from mould, we recommend emptying and rinsing the water tank daily and allowing all parts to air‑dry completely. Once a week, perform a deeper clean: remove mineral buildup by soaking the base with white vinegar for 15–20 minutes, then disinfect the tank with a mild bleach solution (1 teaspoon of bleach in 1 liter of water). Rinse thoroughly until the smell is gone and let everything dry before reassembling. Always use distilled water when possible and never leave standing water in the tank. Regular care ensures healthy air quality and optimal performance. Hey! Thank you for your inquiry! The Vicks VUL510 Ultrasonic Humidifier does not have a built-in humidistat (humidity sensor) to automatically shut off when optimal moisture levels are reached. However, it does have Auto shut-off when water tank is empty and Adjustable mist output.

The Vicks VUL510 Ultrasonic Humidifier is designed for use with Vicks VapoPads only. Adding essential oils, medications, or inhalant liquids directly into the water tank can damage the humidifier and void the warranty.
To enjoy the benefits of essential oils, please use Vicks VapoPads. Simply open the scent pad door, insert up to two pads, and close the door.

The Vicks VUL510 Ultrasonic Humidifier can only be used with the VapoPad that include scented essential oils already in them. You should only put water in the tank itself.
