Worked very well eventually.
For the first fortnight, this barely worked at all. Connecting was difficult and staying connected was even harder. Just when we were considering asking for a refund, it started to work very well, and has performed perfectly now for about two months. Don't give up on it!

Good product
Bought recently as I also bought a new solar security camera, worked perfectly

Great Budget Wi-Fi Booster That Gets the Job Done
Great little device for the price. It was very easy to set up and instantly improved Wi-Fi coverage in rooms that previously had weak signal. Expect super-fast speeds, for browsing, streaming, and general use it works perfectly. A solid budget option if you need to get rid of dead zones.

Excellent coverage
Despite the best service provided by EE, I have a dead zone in my loft. A friend recommended this product which I reluctantly tried. The coverage has been exceptional.

Hi Dave,
The TL-WA850RE is a 2.4GHz-only device ā it does not have a 5GHz radio.
This means it will only be able to connect to and extend your router's 2.4GHz network.
If 5GHz support is important for your setup ā for example, for faster speeds or less interference ā you may want to consider a dual-band range extender such as the RE450 or RE330, both of which support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi,
Yes, the TL-WA850RE is broadly compatible with most standard Wi-Fi routers, including both TP-Link and non-TP-Link models like your Plusnet router. However, compatibility issues may arise with routers or gateways that use modified, outdated, or non-standard firmware. As long as your Plusnet router is using standard Wi-Fi protocols, the TL-WA850RE should work without any issues to extend your fibre broadband Wi-Fi coverage.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Suesue3030,
The TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender signal strength will vary from household to household.
A set up video is available on the items media library on the website.
Thank you for using Q and A.
Hi,
You can use two extenders together in a single network. To ensure optimal network quality, it is recommended to connect both extenders directly to the host router's Wi-Fi network instead of connecting one extender to another. Assign a different Wi-Fi name to the first extender so you can separate its Wi-Fi from your router's. The setup process for adding a second extender is the same as for the first one.
If both the router and the extenders support the EasyMesh feature, you can follow the instructions provided in this link: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3582/...
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Chris,
TP-Link Range Extenders are broadly compatible with most standard Wi-Fi routers, including both TP-Link and non-TP-Link models like TalkTalk routers. However, please note that compatibility issues may arise with routers or gateways that use modified, outdated, or non-standard firmware. As long as your TalkTalk router uses standard Wi-Fi protocols and has up-to-date firmware, the TP-Link Range Extender should work without any problems to extend your Wi-Fi coverage.
Thanks for using Q&A.

Hello James,
I can advise the following for the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender:
Yes, this is possible to hardwire the extender so that you can reach areas that Wi-Fi can't pass through.
Thanks for using Q & A.
Hello,
Yes, the TP-Link TL-WA850RE is universally compatible and will work with your BT full fibre 150 setup. However, its technical specifications will limit the potential speed you can achieve.
Compatibility
The TP-Link TL-WA850RE is designed to be a universal Wi-Fi range extender, working with virtually any Wi-Fi router or wireless access point, including the BT Hub provided with your Full Fibre 150 service.
Connectivity: Connection can be established easily using the WPS button on both the extender and your BT Hub.
Wired Option: The extender also features a single Ethernet port, allowing you to connect a wired device (like a gaming console or TV) to your network.
Potential Issue: In some cases with older BT Hubs, users have reported issues with the "Smart Setup" feature needing to be turned off in the hub manager for a seamless connection.
Have a nice day!
Hi Richard,
The extender can connect to and extend a phone's mobile hotspot Wi-Fi. The setup process for connecting to a mobile hotspot Wi-Fi is the same as connecting to a router. However, some hotspot Wi-Fi may not be stable as phones are not specially made for sharing Wi-Fi. Moving the phone's position frequently may also influence the extender's connection.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Barnetman,
TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender
As this device extends Wi-Fi signal, it isn't connected to the router using an ethernet cable. To connect it to your router, plug it into a mains socket near to your router, connect the device, then move the device and plug it in at the desired location.
