It's better than some of the reviews
I had been using the original double wear formula for over 20 years and it has been my favourite. But I have to say that as I have got older (mid 50's) I had noticed it felt more 'cakey' and heavy for my skin, and I am someone with good skin and minimal lines, so I was looking forward to trying the new formula, but anxious at the same time due to some negative reviews. I have been using the new formula for a few days and I really like it. It IS runnier than the original formula but this is actually a positive for me as it feels lighter and sinks in to the skin. In certain areas on my cheeks I add a little bit more to build the colour up. It feels lighter on the skin and more natural, doesn't feel sticky or patchy, It is consistent all over. My husband also said how natural it looked on my skin, My only recommendation would be to get colour tested in store as 'fresco' in the old formula is slightly different to 'fresco' in the new formula. I'd say give it a go....

Please I beg you to go back to the previous formula, or else I will have to switch foundations for good. I have used double wear since I was a teenager almost but this new formula is so greasy it melts in my face and makes me look greasy in just a few hours. Do not recommend anymore

New formula double wear foundation
I would like to know what ingredient has changed in the new formula please. I've used the this double wear for years and years however I will not be using it again and will transfer to a different brand. After I have removed my foundation at night time, the skin around my eyes and nose are red and inflamed and itchy. Very disappointed with such a popular brand. Now I'm stuck with a full bottle which I cannot use

WELL Estee lauder you should be so proud of yourself turning a well respected beautiful product into the laughing stock of your beauty brand. Usually company release a new product that has improved, I purchased my normal colour and used it today, my husband is still laughing, it's orange. I think it's time for me to move to Dior. I do not have a estee lauder in my town so dont suggest me visiting a estée Lauder counter.

Very disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Double Wear , Fresco for years. I've tried other brands at times but always gone back to Double Wear. The new formula is awful— very runny and when applied is tacky and sticky.I'm so disappointed that I'll have to start looking at other brands

Why would you replace a perfectly good foundation? Like so many others, I have been using double wear since it was first introduced and I love it! The new replacement is awful! Firstly the colour is not the same. The formula is runnier in texture and goes on nicely but soon dries to a powdery effect that sits in every line and pore. This foundation is reported to be better for older skin but it most certainly is not! As an Estée Lauder user for 40+ years, I am So disappointed to have to find another brand of foundation. Please,please,bring back the original double wear.

Oh Estee Lauder what have you done to your number one best selling product??!! As a life long user of double wear i am so extremely disappointed! This new formula is completely useless, provides virtually no coverage and stays sticky/tacky all day as well as covering my whole face with oil and highlighting every pore and tiny hair! The product is so thin and watery you need to apply 3-4layers to get any coverage and even then because its so tacky each attempt to build another layer takes the previous one off leaving it extremely patchy! If you wanted to reinvent double wear you should have done so as a new product not change the formula of the existing product that so many rely on as a tried and tested must have. So disappointed!

Sadly the new formula is a no from me
Knew the formula was changing so I went to the Estée Lauder counter to get two samples, was told I needed to be colour matched again as the new formula colours don't align with the old one (but why then did you keep the names and codes!). Neither sample actually matches my skin now, I could keep trying BUT even if the colour matched the new formula is a disaster. It highlights my pores, shows up every dry patch, is sticky, isn't smoothing, doesn't melt into my skin like the old formula did. What I will say is it does seem to settle a bit and change colour after a while, but I want to see what my foundation looks like when I apply it, not 20min after. I really don't buy the 'it can be layered for more coverage' line, with the old formula you could just blend it really thinly to get lighter coverage - just seems like you will use more product, for a worse finish, taking more time and effort with less versatility. Really wanted to like the new formula as double wear has been my fail proof foundation for year, the new formula couldn't be further from my old trusted friend.

I have used the original for 25 years. The new replacement does not cover or stay and is more watery. I would not use again. I feel this was a bad choice by EL in changing something that works well and can only think it was a cheaper option.. not in the long run i would advise. Even the bottle does not state how much is in there or SP..

I'm not angry, I'm just very disappointed
Why did you have to change the formula for a perfectly amazing foundation? Why couldn't you just bring out another foundation with the new formula? The moment the announcement was made that the formula was going to change, I already knew it was going to be trouble. I have super sensitive skin and it took me years to find a skin care routine and foundation that worked. Well that's all gone to the dogs now. I tried the sample pot then bought a full size bottle of the new and less improved foundation to give it a proper test. My skin has broke out in eczema and is rather painful, the quality of the foundation is absolute pants, blotchy, uneven coverage, slips off the second it comes into contact with another surface. Pants! Pants Pants! What a waste of Money. I have no need to ever buy anything from Estee Lauder Again!!!!! while the original formula is no longer available.
