Lightweight secure ladders
Bought this a month ago. It was a near match for the previous one we had. The majority of fittings were able to stay in situ and these fit in to their places. This ladder has many improvements, side locks to prevent movement and security that they wont slip down. At the top of each unit there are secured plastic tops which were a major issue for breaking on my previous NON WERNER (but very similar) ladders. I've marked these as 4 star only as I do not like their lightweight feel compared to my previous ones, runs seem smaller and the plastic tipped ladder pole is quite cheap material. Their light feel makes me check myself when using them. Maybe this will change as I adapt to use them having had my previous NON WERNER (but very similar) for 24 years. Lets hope these last that time. Fitting time was over 4 hours with two of us but an hour of the time was used to remove the previous set, and we were trying not to damage the new ones and also gather the right tools so as not to keep going up and down. Maybe a little more organisation is needed to reduce fitting times. Overall good compact ladder, light weight, has some secure features and clicks into place safely. Only advise is that you may need to place secure timber to the loft frame aswell as some mending repair plates to loft boards which will secure the ladders much better, but I already had those in having had some NON WERNER (but very similar) ladders

This is a good value loft ladder which provides easy access to the loft space. It is quite lightweight which does mean it’s probably not the sturdiest of loft ladders but for the price it does exactly what’s needed

Great ladder with handy features.
Bought this to get access to start boarding the loft. The ladder feels solid and sturdy and was very very easy to install. When moving large items the hand rail attachment will get in the way so for now I have not bothered to attach it. The power hinge is a nice addition and makes pulling the ladder down and pushing it up nice and easy. The ladder pack comes with all necessary fittings and attachments and even has a very handy guide to mark out and set up the ladder and the power hinge placement. The entire process is very easy and took just over 30 mins on my own, (it is recommended to be a two person job but it is 100% doable on your own).

Confusing, I know, but both responses are correct - it depends on the quality of the chipboard. For example - Green T&G chipboard which is often used for flooring in newer developments is very high density and accepts fixings exceedingly well. Whereas a low density (cheap) sheet of chipboard is much less dense and lighter, so screwss often don't get a good hold when fixing to it.

Please note that the maximum stated load for the ladder is 150Kg, which is 23.6 stone, however this includes both you and anything you are carrying.
