Great ladder with handy features.
Bought this to get access to start boarding the loft. The ladder feels solid and sturdy and was very very easy to install. When moving large items the hand rail attachment will get in the way so for now I have not bothered to attach it. The power hinge is a nice addition and makes pulling the ladder down and pushing it up nice and easy. The ladder pack comes with all necessary fittings and attachments and even has a very handy guide to mark out and set up the ladder and the power hinge placement. The entire process is very easy and took just over 30 mins on my own, (it is recommended to be a two person job but it is 100% doable on your own).

The opening of my loft is quite small. This 3 sections loft ladder is great for my loft. It is very easy to install.

Loft ladder
It's a ladder , you can fit yourself and get into the loft. That's all it does. The parts are small and cheap. The spring loaded catches that connect each section are very flimsy and the whole thing is complicated to fit. Not good value for money and I certainly wouldn't recommend.

This ladder is great. After reading reviews i thought I would be fine putting it together myself I was very wrong (I could not wrap my head around the instructions- but that's my own issue and the fact i can not even hold a screwdriver without doing something wrong) the family friend that did install the ladder did say how easy it was and how good the ladder was as the hand rail was a good addition as well as the loft hatch lock and extension pole/grabber (it took them around 1hr). I am very happy with this product. If i had friends, I would 100% recommend this ladder to them.

I bought this a month ago and had no problems installing. My attic door is too small for sturdier ladders. so I bought this one. Have been up and down about fifty times already with no problems so I can say it does the job and is worth the money

It's OK, it does the job and it's quite easy to install. It feels a bit flimsy with the plastic guide rails, which were metal years ago.

Confusing, I know, but both responses are correct - it depends on the quality of the chipboard. For example - Green T&G chipboard which is often used for flooring in newer developments is very high density and accepts fixings exceedingly well. Whereas a low density (cheap) sheet of chipboard is much less dense and lighter, so screwss often don't get a good hold when fixing to it.

Please note that the maximum stated load for the ladder is 150Kg, which is 23.6 stone, however this includes both you and anything you are carrying.

The length of the back part of the ladder is 130cm and this is the length of the package I picked up yesterday. Its width is 32cm and depth 18cm.
That translates as 51 inches by 12.5 inches by 7 inches. It would not fit across the boot of my hatchback but did fit across the back seat. It would have gone in lengthways if I had tipped one of the rear seats forward.

Due to the way the catches work on the pieces of ladders you won't be able to retract it while in the loft as you need access to them.
