Misleading name and description. It is good as a straightener but does not curl at all. I bought this purely because it supposedly did both. I will now have to spend more to but a curler as well.

No you do not need to register. The supplier advises: "Please be advised the customer receipt will act as the manufacturers 5 year guarantee."
(You'd need to retain your receipt for that timescale were you to need to put in a claim within the 5 years. We’d also add here that this 5 year guarantee would be managed by the brand themselves and it’s subject to its own terms and conditions that are separate to those of the Argos 12 month guarantee).

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the BaByliss Titanium Straight and Curl Hair Straightener: Yes the BaByliss Titanium Straight and Curl Hair Straightener 2481U is most certainly suitable for 3b hair.
The heated housing means you can get much closer to the root of the hair than other straighteners
- Titanium plates heat evenly, smooth the hair and require fewer passes through the hair
- Multiple heat settings up to 235 mean you have a choice depending on your hair, as some hair types will need more heat than others
