It’s very clearly plastic and the extendable section is on view once the curtain pole is up which takes away from the effect of the wooden look.

Whilst this curtain pole was not in the end suitable for me, it was a gorgeous pole. The gold ringlets really made the detail. Just a shameit didnt work out.

Looks nothing like the photos on ARGOS
It really pains me to write this review because I love ARGOS but Unfortunately this time ARGOS you have let me down! Yesterday I purchased the Argos Home Walnut Extendable Curtain Pole - 110cm - 300cm. As it wasn’t available in my local store I made the one hour round journey to pick it up from the nearest store available. The description is WALNUT ( coloured) extendable curtain pole. When I finally got home and opened the box, I can only describe the colour as what a new born baby leaves behind in a nappy! Not a good look and certainly absolutely NOTHING like the description photos on ARGOS website. No resemblance to walnut anywhere to be found. I was not happy, but left with a bad situation and not wanting to make another hour long trip I decided to remedy it myself. I sanded the pole down and stained it to the colour that it was originally meant to be. I took a risk because I could have been left with a ruined pole but my efforts paid off and now I have a beautiful walnut pole. Perhaps ARGOS should employ me to fix all the other poles they are selling which clearly look nothing like the colour walnut.

Good Wood effect & great price
I searched for lots of curtain poles and was amazed that they were well over £150. I came across this simple design which is plastic but with a good wood effect. Very happy with the product and it looks good in my living room at a fraction of the price.

Item not as pictured
The item did not look like the photos. It was visibly a poorly painted metal pole, and didn’t look anything like real wood. I returned it.

“ There are thirty (30) rings for this pole. The fixing on the rings is a ring with a hanging loop to attach a curtain clip to it. Eyelet curtails will fit, however the bracket that holds the pole is designed to let the pole rest onto it. ”
