About this product
The Zinc Twin LED PIR Floodlight lights up driveways, gardens or side paths the moment it detects movement. The twin LED setup spreads bright light across outdoor spaces, switching on automatically when you approach. The polycarbonate build stands up to rain and outdoor use all year. The white finish blends neatly with house walls or garage exteriors. Adjustable lux, timer and sensitivity settings let you fine-tune how and when it activates, so it responds to what you need rather than every passing cat.
The PIR sensor senses movement over a wide area, covering doorways and outdoor spaces without dark corners. The long-life LED bulbs mean fewer replacements over the years. Weatherproof casing protects the electronics in all conditions. It requires mains wiring for installation, so you get reliable power without changing batteries. The adjustable sensor head swivels to point where you need coverage, making it practical for awkward angles or entry points that need extra visibility after dark.

Well made & easy to fit. Surprisingly bright too.
I recently needed to replace an old 2x10W PIR spotlight and found this particular fitting on sale and available at my local branch of Argos. It's made entirely from pastic, but it actually looks and feels pretty sturdy and well sealed. Like my old lamp fitting, it has a circular mount secured to the wall with two screws and rawlplugs, which come supplied with the lamp. A great bonus is that the base has adjustable knock-outs for the mounting screws, which meant that I didn't have to drill any new holes in my wall; in fact, I didn't even have to use the new rawplugs. This lamp doesn't come with a flex but I just cut off the armoured cord from my old fitting, crimped the wires and fitted it to the new lamp. As this is a plastic fitting, it doesn't require to be earthed, so I just terminated the earth wire of the old flex with a Wago lever connector. I did the same at the other end of the cable where it's wired to a junction box. The lamp's internal block comes pre-wired and you need only fit the live and neutral wires. Compared to the Philips PIR lantern I fitted a couple of weeks ago, this was a doddle! My final job was to dab a wee blob of marine grease onto the exposed screw heads, as I find that this keeps them from rusting over the long term. Set-up is very easy if you simply follow the instructions and I fine tuned the lamp after dark. I didn't know before I bought it if the PIR sensor could be swiveled from side-to-side in addition to up and down. It can be, and this was of great help when mounted facing down the side passageway towards the back door. The sensitivity on its lowest setting is excellent and the lux sensor works best for me on it's lowest (i.e. darkest) setting too. I also have the timer set about a quarter of the way up at around 1 minute. I was surprised how bright the lamps are on this - much brighter and with a greater spread than my old spot lamps with an equivalent output. The 4000K colour temperature is't too jarring and I'd describe it as 'slightly warm.' At a total of 20 watts, it's very efficient too. I'd highly recommend this lamp fitting, even at the full price. It looks great, works very well, packs a punch and seems well made, despite being made from plastic.

Great features
Straightforward to install, and I'm happy with the result. A big plus is it has three adjustments you can make to suit different circumstances. (1) You can adjust the lux setting, so it will activate depending on how dark it is. (2) The time can be set allowing it to stay on for a short period of time, or longer if required. (3) The sensitivity setting can be adjusted so the light is triggered up to a maximum of 12 metres away. Also, an added bonus of two separate lights you can aim in the direction you want - up, down, left and right. I like this product, and would be happy to recommend it.

Faulty Floodlights
Faulty- keep flicking without any reason even though the sensitivity has been reduced to minimum. Waiting for my electrician to come and take it off for the return. Not recommended

Hello Bennybrit,
After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Zinc Twin 10w LED PIR White Floodlight: Not really no. Also, as this has a PIR sensor, it would come on and off which would presumably not be acceptable in this case.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Q & A.
