Helps to alleviate anxiety
I can't attest to its accuracy without using it alongside another monitor, although I take 2 readings (5 minutes apart) in one sitting to attempt to get a reasonably accurate reading. It is very easy to use, with a big screen, although the batteries provided have run down very quickly after 2 readings a day for 4 weeks. Don't let that put you off though, particularly as the batteries are hanging on and haven't needed changing yet. Please note, I haven't actually checked the memory as I record the readings on an Android app that is free to use - Blood Pressure Diary by Health & FItness AI Lab. I highly recommend it as it provides a history but also statistics. If you do purchase this device, ensure you follow the instructions before a reading, relaxing with feet on the floor etc., having also refrained from eating or drinking 30 minutes prior - it improves the accuracy of a proper resting read, which I CAN attest to when I've been too impatient to wait! Aged 59, I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and have made significant improvements to my diet etc. (much needed changes but also a preventative measure to avoid having to take medication). The device is reassuring to use and motivational to see my blood pressure decrease over recent weeks, well within the normal readings now. It's also great to keep an eye on my resting pulse - which has also decreased by over 10 beats per minute in 4 weeks since improving my diet! Without this device (or similar), I would be anxious as I also have borderline high cholesterol. I checked the British Heart Foundation's website before buying to check that they also sell this device - they do, so I didn't hesitate to purchase for a reasonable price. If you're concerned about your blood pressure don't hesitate to buy this or similar device; you won't regret it the older you get!
