I purchased the Seagate Expansion 1TB simply because I have an older model which is still going strong, it’s just full. I purchased the Seagate Expansion 1TB from Argos in stock The lead is just 18” long so I had to purchase a longer one! The Expansions is more complicated to set up than my previous one, which is plug in and go. The Expansion has more on it than I wanted.

You will need an adapter that have a lighting to USB-A port on it. This will then allow the drive to connect to the iPhone. You will also be needing to run a iOS version that has the Files app installed to allow the phone to see the drive and allow you to access it.
Note: A USB drive must have only a single data partition, and it must be formatted as FAT, FAT32, exFAT (FAT64), or APFS. To change the formatting of a USB drive, use a Mac or PC.

The Seagate Expansion Plus 1TB Portable Hard Drive is compatible with Chrome OS, it's only the Seagate Toolkit software that is not.
Here's what that means for you and your Chromebook:
Seagate Toolkit is optional software that provides:
Backup and restore features
Syncing files between your computer and the drive
Drive health monitoring
Password protection (on supported drives)
Since Chrome OS doesn't support Seagate Toolkit, you won’t be able to use:
Automatic backup features
Drive encryption/password protection via Toolkit
Syncing tools provided by the software
However, you can still use the drive on your Chromebook for:
Manual file storage and transfer
Reading/writing files, as long as the drive is formatted in a compatible file system like exFAT.
If you just need the drive for basic storage and file transfer, you can safely use it on both devices — just format it to exFAT.
