Perfect for the job.
I had been prompted to purchase an external hard drive to assist my ancient PC. The Seagate 2TB was a reasonable price, was available straight away, and was literally a 'Plug and Play' device. Since installing it I have transferred over 1,000 images tro relieve the pressure on my PC's hard drive with zero problems. It also offered amn automatic back up feature, which I have not used (as yet). Very happy with this purchase.

DOES THE JOB
We bought this drive to replace a smaller capacity one that was filling up quickly. We use the drive for whole system back-ups and this 2TB one allows many back-ups. It was easy to set-up and use. It is literally 'Plug-and-Play' but we use it in conjunction with the Windows Backup facility. The drive works well and we have backed up on it a few times now. Some users have reported that the new drive doesn't come with the full 2TB space on the drive, but it won't because it has pre-installed software (which is optional to use) and also necessary formatting for the purpose of its operation. This is normal. The drive is lightweight and easily portable and is compatible with USB 3 and Windows 11. It is also compatible with USB 2, although the transfer may not be as fast. It didn't take long for a whole back-up and so I am pretty impressed.

Awesome for backing up Laptops, PC''s etc
Bought this Seagate portable USB3 2TB HDD for backing up a laptop. Works fine and chosen to replace a smaller version of the same I bought 10yrs ago (still working!). Slower than a SDD but reliable and left to run on its own works just fine.

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Seagate Expansion Plus 2TB Portable Hard Drive: ''Yes, the Seagate Expansion Plus 2TB Portable Hard Drive (model 271819) is compatible with the Mac Mini 2 (2023). However, please note that it will need to be formatted for full use with macOS. Keep in mind that formatting will permanently erase all existing data on the drive, including pictures, videos, music, and documents, and this data cannot be recovered without incurring costs.''

This is SMR and not server preferred CMR. You could still use it as a donor drive for a server but you will be limited to SMR processes.
