Does not weigh accurately
The grinder claims you can type your desired weight and you will get that weight. This is not correct at all. I tested this using my jewellers scales which can measure accurately to 3 decimal places (e.g. 0.01g) and i never got anywhere close to the desired weight. On the 11g setting i got - 18.84g, 14.45g, and 13.36g On the 10g setting I got - 10.55g, 12.39g, and 12.85g And on the 3g setting i got 6.00g I contacted the supplier Melita directly and they said the scales have a +/- 3g allowance. I have two issues with this. Firstly the weight of the coffee is incredibly important, 3g off is a huge margin in error. Secondly this 3g leeway isn’t true as some of my weights were upwards of over 7g off. Also it makes an absolute mess. It grinds the coffee very well i will give it that but as it is designed to also weigh out your coffee, and it doesn’t do that, then it isn’t a good product at all.

Complicated
It's a good coffee grinder that does it's job well but the instructions are typical generic suit all languages type, complicated and brief. You need to play with it in order to understand how it works.

Grinds well
I am happy with the way this machine grinds coffee. It’s easy to use, if a little fiddly, and needs a bit of tidying of the surface after use. It’s also quite big on the worktop. But all said, it works well.

Stylish gift
Bought for a gift, well received and apparently does the job efficiently and quietly.

Spend a little extra and have a very good coffee grinder that looks the part.

Quick and Efficient
I use this for my Gaggia espresso machine, cafetiere and Malitta filter machine. They all use different grind settings, and the machine works perfectly for all three. Someone commented that it can’t grind fine enough for espresso machines, however, I find that the very fine setting is too fine and I have to set it back a few stops. Changing bean types is straightforward with a trap door closing at the base of the hopper, leaving only a few beans behind. Its remarkably quick and relatively tidy. Contrary to one review, doesn’t leave coffee grinds on the worktop. I previously used the De'longhi KG79 Coffee Grinder but this is so much better.

Great coffee grinder
I bought this about 3 months ago, works great, very happy with it.

Excellent scales feature
This grinder is ideal for grinding into other vessels that fit under the outlet. In my case a continental-style coffee maker already filled with water. It still tares correctly with this heavy pot and grinds the perfect amount, 14g for me, straight into the coffee maker.

Hi there,
No, I'm sorry but the Melitta 6767054 Calibra Coffee Bean Grinder Stainless Steel is only suitable for grinding coffee beans.
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hello Charlie,
The supplier has advised the following for the Melitta 6767054 Calibra Coffee Bean Grinder Stainless Steel:
“ The Calibra Grinder is designed to grind bean finer enough to use in cafetiere, filter coffee machine or French press. It does not grind fine enough for instant coffee, there for we would not recommend putting the ground coffee directly into a cup, it would have to be filtered through a filter paper, or device with a filter. ”
Thanks for using Q&A.
Hi Sbr,
The Melitta 6767054 Calibra Coffee Bean Grinder Stainless Steel, is manufactured in China.
Thank you for using Q & A
While Argos are right in saying its a stainless steel burr - more specifically its a conical stainless steal burr which is not ideal for espresso grinding as conical burrs create inconsistent grind sizes within the batch. These are better suited for moka pot and aeropress coffee.
Grinding coffee for espresso requires a flat burr where the beans are ground between two plates which gives a consistent grind size. Ideally ceramic, as stainless steel can get hot which cooks the beans
Hi KeithF,
The Melitta 6767054 Calibra Coffee Bean Grinder Stainless Steel is a burr grinder.
Thank you for using Q&A
Hi Wenz,
This Melitta 6767054 Calibra Coffee Bean Grinder Stainless Steel has 39 variable grind settings - from fine to coarse. Espresso machines require a finer grind setting (level 1-5) whilst a filter coffee machine requires a coarser grind (levels 6-26) right through to the coarse grounds required for a cafetiere (levels 27-39)

Hi Irfan,
This grinder is only suitable for coffee beans not spices. If you are looking for a herb grinder, please see here: https://www.argos.co.uk/search/herb-grinder/?...
Thanks for using Q&A,
Hello Jb,
I have spoken to the supplier who has confirmed this item does not have a hot plate as this is a coffee bean grinder and not a coffee machine.
I hope this helps
