I brought this a few weeks ago and was not impressed. after following the instructions to set it up, the water was coming out with a chemical taste, ran it through multiple times and still a chemical taste, don’t waste your money

Great purchase .
I bought this product about 3 weeks ago and it works excellently. I love the fact that I could use it without plugging it. I mean it will serve me during autumn and winter when I donot need cold water and during summer when I might have to plug it in to make the water cold .. Honestly, this is my best purchase of the year .

Aqua Optima Lumi Chilled Water Dispenser 943/3214 From the information in the instruction booklet I can advise: Page 4 and 5
AQUA OPTIMA EVOLVE 30-DAY FILTER CARTRIDGE
To ensure the best performance, the filter cartridge should
be changed after 100 litres, which is approximately 30 days
of typical use.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
• Water is a foodstuff. We recommend using the filtered
water within 2 days. If the appliance is not used for more
than 48 hours fill it twice with cold water and empty the
water before continuing to use it normally.
• Should the appliance not be used for an extended period
of time (for example a holiday) we recommend that the
filter is removed and placed in a clean plastic bag and
stored in the fridge. This will help to maintain the filter
when not in use. Before using the filter after storage, follow
the preparation and fitting instructions for use as normal.

You can use bottled water if you choose to however this dispenser does filter the water for you.

The water in my area is very hard and furs up my kettle By filtering the tap water the water is clear and cool. I don’t see the point of filtering bottled water very clear and ready to drink after a spell in the fridge. But you could do it I suppose, I like this product and a nice cool clear drink it provides. Filters are required and one filter lasts approximately a month.Hope this helps.

The supplier has advised the following for the Aqua Optima Lumi Chilled Water Dispenser:
“Most customers set a 30 day reminder on there phone/ devise for filter change. If they believe they will use more than 100 litres in the 30 days then they they should work out average (literage per day) and set the reminder for 100 litres.”
And also: “All of the cleaning information can be found on the Aqua Optima website but I will also add below.
1. Switch off appliance, remove plug from wall socket and leave the appliance switched off overnight to allow machine to reach room temperature.
2. Remove the tanks and set aside.
3. Take machine to a sink or bath, and then empty the appliance by removing the screw cap & bung located at the base of the back of the machine.
4. Once empty, reinsert the bung, screw cap back on finger tight.
5. Re-insert the main tank excluding the filter. Pour at least 2.5 litres of distilled white vinegar (minimum 4% acidity) into the tank using a container. Place a glass under the dispensing tap. Push and hold in the water dispenser button until the vinegar starts coming through the nozzle and then immediately release the dispense button.
6. Allow to sit overnight.
7. Take machine to a sink or bath, and then empty the appliance by removing the screw cap & bung located at the base of the back of the machine.
8. Once empty, reinsert the bung, screw cap back on finger tight.
9. Re-insert the main tank. Pour at least 2.5 litres of fresh water into the tank using a container. Place a glass under the dispensing tap. Push and hold in the water dispenser button. Note initially there will be a slight delay until water starts to be dispensed as the internal chiller needs to be refilled. Repeat this process several times, pouring each glass of water away.
10. Reinsert the top tank and pour in water until both the tanks are full.
11. Plug the unit into the electrical mains supply and switch on. The power light will illuminate blue and the appliance will begin to chill the water.
12. Dispense 2 litres of water from the unit to remove any unfiltered water and top up the tanks.
13. When the cool light illuminates blue the filtered water in the internal chilled water tank will be cooled to approximately ≤12 °C less than ambient temperature”.

The Aqua Optima Lumi Chilled Water Dispenser has an internal chilled water tank of 0.8L and it takes around 30 minutes to chill the water to 12°C. The blue LED cool light illuminates when the filtered water is chilled. You can push the button to dispense chilled water when both lights are blue.
