The Vax Air Stretch is a bagless upright that's built for homes where stairs, upholstery and awkward corners are part of the job. I bought this in a hurry when mine broke on Housework Day. I looked for a long lead and reviews that mentioned good suction. It's a bit basic and lacking little nineties (you have to change the height of the brushes by hand on a sliding scale that's at the foot of the machine) however, it does have a long lead, and the hooks are big enough to take it all, and the suction is great. The noise it makes takes some getting used to but at least my neighbours know I'm home. I'm happy and hope it lasts.
