A decent vacuum at a very good price from Argos
The Mach Air is a good vacuum at a very reasonable price from Argos. The "stretch" version has a separate hose to use for reaching ceilngs, which the standard Mach Air ("revive") does not have. The handle height isn't adjustable.

Vax Air Stretch
This vacuum cleaner represents genuinely good value for money. Suction is very strong, so strong that it will lift the back end of the vacuum while the suction clamps the front to the ground if pulling back too fast. There are only two real negatives which are the handle, which flexes a bit in use and the vacuum hose which is kept captive by a bracket which restricts hose length which is annoying when you want to get into a corner or have a quick go over furniture. The extended hose is very useful but this does require some detaching and attaching of bits.

The waste bin would need to be removed from the hoover body and then the button to open the bottom will allow the waste to be put in a bag or dustbin.
