Whether the C310 can monitor the entire lane from a side wall position depends on several factors. Here are some key tips to help you find the best installation location:
• Before determining the installation location, test the Wi-Fi signal to ensure sufficient coverage.
• Choose a location with an unobstructed view to monitor the area you want—in your case, the entire lane.
• Choose an appropriate angle and height based on the camera's field of view. The C310 has a horizontal field of view of 84° and a diagonal field of view of 100°, which is quite wide. However, if the camera is installed high on the rear side wall, whether it can capture the entire lane will depend on distance and angle—the higher and further back the position, the more likely the area in front of the lane will be outside its field of view.
• Mounting the camera to the side, so that moving objects cross the lens's field of view laterally rather than directly towards the lens, can actually improve motion detection performance.
• Avoid pointing the camera directly at swaying trees, vehicles on the road, or streetlights, as these objects may trigger unnecessary alarms.
Regarding the impact of height on performance: Generally, mounting the camera at a higher position is acceptable and can actually provide a wider area of view. It's important to ensure the correct angle is adjusted during installation so that the camera is pointing in the correct direction to effectively cover your driveway.

The Tapo C310 supports both local microSD card storage (up to 512 GB) and Tapo Care cloud storage (subscription required), and both can be accessed conveniently through the Tapo app on your smartphone (compatible with iOS 13.0 or higher and Android 7.0 or higher).

After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Tapo C310 2K Wi-Fi Outdoor Security Camera: While it is possible to use a power extension cord with your Tapo Smart Camera, we generally do not recommend it, especially for outdoor installations. Using an extension cord outdoors can increase the risk of lightning damage, which may void your product warranty.

On the tapo app you should have the option to download the clips stored on the sd card, I think this is done one by one, no bulk download option.

1. Insert the SD card and the playback will be stored locally to the SD card.
2. Subscribe to the Tapo Care service and the playback will be stored in the cloud.
